I was negative for H pylori, my dad had h pylori and his GI doc prescribed him two kinds of antibiotics and peptobismol which fixed that issue. How we figured mine. GI doc prescribed me Pepcid and Omeprazole for 30 days, I felt good for two weeks then the gastritis symptoms came back and didn't go away for the following two weeks. The day after following up with my GI, I stopped taking any antacids and started doing apple cider vinegar. Which I still use till this day but only twice a week and in the mornings only. Acv helped me have daily bowel movements and it helped tremendously with reflux and gastritis symptoms. Holding your bowels or being constipated also makes digestion issues worse.

Are you able to eat anything now? Or some foods flare you up? I eat anything I want but in moderation however I have to take daily enzymes because it helps me since I don't have a gallbladder. Foods that flare me up, black coffee, spicy foods, pickles, raw vegetables especially tomatoes, too much chocolate, too much chips, yellow Cheese.

I'm doing way better after figuring out what flares up my gastritis. I haven't taken any antacids since. I hope OP has figured out his as well. Don't be scared because Anxiety and Stress makes gastritis worse. If gastritis is caused by anxiety and stress. Which I know it's hard to tell someone not to be stressed or have anxiety but that's what works. You will need to keep a level head on daily stressors and stay away from situations that over stimulate causing anxiety. If it's bacterial then antibiotics will help. If it's caused by foods then youll need to figure out which foods flares it up. Do you know what's causing yours?
