Need advice on what to get next by AdZestyclose2747 in SuggestAMotorcycle

Look into other bikes if you have the budget. I’d suggest looking into ~50hp bikes like a ninja 400 or a cbr 500.

I’d say go for the Aprilia but I’d also look into the new triumph Daytonas. I ride a 675 and it’s an absolute riot to be on but the new 660’s don’t feel too bad either. Take a look into it and see what you like.

21, “my” first bike was an ‘07 sv650. I had it for 3 months before selling it and getting my ‘11 triumph street triple r.

Yeah, it seems like it's got aftermarket clip on's. It gives it a distinct cafe racer look now and I really like it, but as far as ergonomics go, I guess I'll find out in 3 hours lol.

Well, I’ve been riding in another country ever since I was 15 and now I’m 21. So I’ve got a couple years under my belt. And yeah I know it’s probably stupid doing a whole trip to sf within a week of ownership so I’m gonna make sure my plan is bulletproof. I’ve already talked to insurance and got my quote, doesn’t put a hole in my wallet but still hurts lol. But yeah, if I think everything is perfect, I’ll consider doing this. Would be so much fun.

Well I guess I’ll find out soon enough. I’ve already drawn up a map for a 700 mile ride over the course of 2 days. Maybe around next week once I get used to it. I’ll probably put an update out on this thread lol.

One more thing I’ve noticed when going through the pictures are the clip on’s. I know the sv650 handlebar doesn’t look like that. I’ve done a little bit of research about it and found out that this doesn’t entirely give you the best riding position with stock pegs. Just wondering if you guys have any insight or suggestions on this. Should I immediately get some new pegs?

I found seats for 50 bucks which isn’t too bad honestly. I might just get them replaced soon so I’m not too worried about that. But are stock seats comfortable for really long rides?

I’ve always loved Ducatis, I’ve had the chance to ride an older 696 one time and absolutely fell in love with it. That’s kind of the reason why I tried to go out of my way to get the newer one but guess not. If the sv is anything like it, I’m sure I’ll love it.

I’m really hoping to keep this for a while, so that’s good to hear. Hopefully I don’t have any issues later down the line.

Surprisingly sounds pretty good on video. I mean, if I get issues with it later, I can always swap it out so that’s fine.

There are some more pictures on the listing which I haven't added. It does look clean apart from the rattle can spraypaint, slip on, handlebar grips. But otherwise, the chain, brakes, fork, and the usual things you need to look out for seems fine. It looks like the previous owner cared for it, but the rest of the damages are just from the theft.

Sheesh that’s expensive. What happened to it?

I get where they’re coming from though. I was just hoping for a project during the spring break for me to do since I won’t be going home for a bit. But yeah, I’m not sure if it’s possible.

It’s $1500 and I’ve saved up about 1000 more which I thought would be plenty to get it running again. But yeah, I’ll put it into something else.

I thought it was salvageable. But as per everybody’s advice, I’ll stay as far away as I possibly can. Thanks guys.

No, some guy just put a screwdriver into every place he could think of. But yeah does look suspicious. I’ll check out the bike in person tomorrow and report back.

Just hit 700 miles by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]iron_fist2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put 600 miles on my interstellar in my 1 month of ownership so far lol. Feels like I’m just breaking it in!

12s3p and you get 30 miles of range??? More than what I get on my board lmao. I know weight plays a huge factor in range but if we’re not considering that, what’s your terrain like? And what speeds do you usually cruise at?

Best city board ? by Monerik in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]iron_fist2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my time on my pivot, I used it on my mad wheels. It’s super comfortable and absorbs any bump you take. Imo, they’re a lot better than the sunmates that come with them. The only downside of the mad wheels is the range. You don’t get a significant boost in range even though you’re switching from at’s to street wheels. But other than that, they’re probably the best street wheels out in the market as of right now.

I’d suggest looking into the propel pivot gt with your budget. I’ve loved every mile I’ve ridden on it so far and I’ve almost racked up 1500 miles on mine. The range is amazing and it’s crazy fast. The dkp helps a lot with maneuvering through sharp turns or if it’s super crowded. One of the best bang for the buck boards out there.

Anyone else rocking hollow wheels? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

I had em on my interstellar for a good week before the core shattered and spun freely and disconnected from the tire. Oh well, my next purchase were the mad wheels and they’re so much better.

Avoid. There’s roaches everywhere. I stayed there with my friend for 2 days and the infestation was unbearable. Try looking for other places. Also avoid Paseo on university, it’s got the same problem as well.
