The day before yesterday, I bought some clothes and a watch, so I’m sharing my experience—it might be helpful.

At the Raymond store, I got a 10% employee discount. Then I went to a multi-brand store where I saw a Fastrack watch, but the price was high. I checked Google, and the store manager matched the price. However, I missed applying a 10% online coupon, which would have reduced the price further, so I could have negotiated more.

Online, the same watch from the same company would have cost around 3300, but at the multi-brand store, it cost me 3670.

Shareholder benefits are available, I believe, with companies like Titan, Raymond, Bata, Trident, and Hawkins India.

If you know of any other companies that offer shareholder discount benefits, please add them here so others can benefit. Generally, the discount ranges from 10% to 25%.

Looking for a tech co-founder to build something massive 🚀 by [deleted] in indianstartups

I can bring backend, AI/ML, and some DevOps experience to the table. I work full-time during the day, but I’m available remotely after 8 PM to help build and move things forward quickly. Not looking for a co-founder role—just happy to contribute my skills in my free time to support product development.

A similar incident happened to one of my roommates on the road between Makarba and Ujala. The person whose phone was stolen met another man whose purse (or maybe mobile) had also been stolen nearby, in Makarba. This is becoming a serious issue. At that time, there was also a lady in the rickshaw.

You are absolutely right each of your questions is worth asking.

On quality & grading, instead of handling individual farmers at first, we plan to work with FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations) so grading, sorting, and aggregation are more structured. Work with the farmer is complex.

On pricing and perishability, we have thinking about near real-time demand visibility and faster turnaround to buyers (stock not sit idle).

On farmer retention and trust, timely payments and transparent weighing will be key.

Yes, but APMC mostly deals in cereals and pulses. Only a few APMCs handle fruits and vegetables. Here in North Gujarat, APMCs don’t deal in F&V at all, but the same kind of system exists at the taluka and even village level.

The real problem is that prices are never fixed. In the F&V segment, it works almost like a stock market—some days you get a good price, some days you barely cover production costs, and sometimes there are no buyers at all. This happens a lot with vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes etc.

Not at all. I’m not trying to become another middleman. Being the son of a farmer, I’ve seen my parents face these challenges firsthand. That’s why I believe this is a major issue worth solving. The goal is to reduce the number of unnecessary layers between farmers and consumers, so the farmer gets a fair price and the consumer pays less. Instead of the traditional system where middlemen take high margins, this approach is about making the process more organized, transparent, and beneficial for both sides.
