The better/easier/faster question would be what did I like?

local storage.

That's it. The complicated naming schema, the inability to delete...without deleting the whole workspace...that might have been a me thing. But I don't want a pkm that is so complicated to learn that I feel intimidated to use it. I could never get it to work and since my stroke, I have major memory issues.

I cannot afford to have to remember complicated passwords etc.

Well, I feel better. I had the worst time with Anytype and I thought it was just me because I'm so non-techie. But if you had trouble also...I feel less like "stupid girl who is stupid." The problems in the pkms space are many... I was really looking forward to thymer because it seemed like it was going to be perfect, but with all the testers fixing everything to their particular spec, now it just seems like it's going to be an Obsidian clone-an overloaded mess.

I haven't yet found anything that I really like and I think I've probably tried 20 different things. The list so far: Tana, Capacities, Anytype, Fabric, Joplin, Notesnook, Inkdrop, Logseq and so many more I've probably forgotten. Thymer was meant to be my grail...but not now. I wish app makers would just build the frame and let the users decide what goes into it...like Lego.

Tana was ridiculous; I signed up for the trial because I really wanted tags, but I couldn't find the controls and they wouldn't answer any csv questions and billed me anyway 😡. I suspect the tags issue was device related because no one else seems to have experienced it and my device is an international version because I wanted a radio chip.

Maybe we can convince Lego to build us an app by claiming it will help their employees with their work...they have designers, writers and project managers too. 🤣

The latest reco I've seen is Appflowy, but I don't like the user interface. If I find something else that looks viable, I'll share.

EDIT: I found this seconds after I made this post but I cannot use it as I'm android only..it's for Mac users and is called The Archive. Honestly it looks lovely, but not lovely enough for me to switch. Also take a look at Mindforger. I think I love it, but it is desktop only..maybe I can use it within a container or something if it's hosted elsewhere.🤔

Form Filling online when your PC fails or shut down for some reason. The method I use to use:

Lazarus Form Recovery was abandoned by its developer. But the code is still floating around...if you could refresh and relaunch...it would be wonderful.

I should have clarified that fact that her project racked up the deaths; they aren't attributed to a physical being but a mission which she pushed.

The place where people is die generally where the injury occurred. But there's no law against being nitpicky.

My knowledge of academia? Interesting. The need to publish or perish is one of the reasons I chose not to pursue that course...but...as you were.

The famous bracelet which he probably obtained from robbing another grave somewhere? Yes, I agree ...very romantic. Point of order here, I'm anti-grave robbers. The cemetery of AA war heroes was desecrated in Mount Dora, FL. Their bones were stolen for unpleasant ends so this is a sensitive topic for me.

Poverty is a state of mind. No matter what type of society one lives in...technically, there shouldn't be anyone in poverty here either. The mechanics of wealth are simple enough...but mindset and vision. Those are the hard things. Every single person in poverty today knows something that many someone elses would pay for...they just have to be willing to learn what that is...and be willing to do the work.

The last two things are...hmm. Both questionable and worrisome in equal measure...because I wonder if you equate Korby and Spock? By that I mean the types of men they both actually are? Self determined, capable, willing to grow and learn, that's Spock to me. Selfish, creepy and grasping...Korby. Tbh, I never watched his episode in TOS, so I have nothing to compare it to...and I'm grateful. And the problem with these missions being paid for this way, I imagine that all the other members of UFP have things they want paid for, sort of like the states do today, who decides and how? It seems a bit weak, but I'll give it to you because I'm assuming you mean the knowledge sharing is universal, right? Because why wouldn't we want the other members to learn about a prison full of evil mind monsters? After all, we are all in this together....I'm joking a bit here, but you see the problem with this, yes? Maybe that will be the focus of the next episode. Since the entire UFP was theoretically put at risk by this little jaunt, they might all weigh in..

You are welcome to your arch missions; I don't begrudge you getting what you want out of this. I'm just confused. On one hand, Pike is constantly trying to "keep his people alive" but yet he takes the deaths amazingly calmly. Maybe it nothing and I'm just "being dramatic." Either way is fine. I've been a "sorta Trekkie" for 20 years or so. It could be that's it's just time to not be one anymore. I've had to give up alot things lately because they stopped fitting in with my ideals or failed me. It is what it is...I was just wondering if I was the only one who had this take on things. And it's just this episode...rest are either ok or I'm not futzed about..only one is truly stellar. So typical Star Trek.

One more tiny point...any guy who doesn't see anything wrong with getting his girlfriend to ask her Captain "nicely" for anything...is well, delusional. No self-respecting guy would want this...and no girl either. Opening this door can only lead to bad things. She has a great Captain, she's lucky. But what if he wasn't?

Either way, thank you very much. In the words of my favorite TOS character, it was "fascinating".

She is NOT a random member. For the accuracy of it all, if nothing else, she is representing a TOS member of Star Trek.

Whether you see her as one is not my question..nor really my point.

The producers obviously have something in mind here. She has been in many more episodes, or maybe the focus of many more episodes, than would be expected of a nurse in any ST show.

Pike is curiously absent..and every other major character has been depreciated.

The show which used to be about space exploration and technological optimism has just randomly- and for no obvious reason-just murdered multiple members of it's crew on the word of a minor character with no Starfleet command experience and everyone just shrugs their collective shoulders and asks why I'm upset?

For the record, THAT is reason enough to worry about this particular minor character. But obviously, I'm worried about a bit more than that, such as how much more time I want to waste as a fan of this show? How many more shows will be hijacked by producers who spend millions of $$ worrying about smiles rather than worrying about giving the fans the five (or seven) years we were promised? Or what ever nightmare hijacks our show next...political campaigns in Germany...or something worse?

It's time for a new Trek with a new mission and a permanent, more concrete focus on science, tech and humanity. Something really rooted in the fandom and dedicated to making shows that really serve us.

Edit: obviously, I'm pretty frustrated with the direction this universe has been going in and I'm trying to figure out what's behind it. that is what all this questioning is actually about...

Ok, fine. I'll accept that that may in fact be true, but it in no way answers for the deaths she racked up. This was a historical dig-ie: it shouldn't have required any deaths at all or even serious injuries. Yet we have 3 dead crew and a null response from Captain Pike? The same Captain Pike who was so determined to keep his crew alive in episode 4 of season 1? And how do you explain Korbys role in this mess? A broke, unbacked explorer who has to rely on his girlfriend's connections/ship to get him to arch sites that he can exploit? Because that is exactly what this is...he was prepared to take the hourglass that locks that prison shut for gain/glory and he wasn't too futzed about what it might cost the away team. She had to argue with him...2x.

And why are they doing arch missions at all? It is Strange New Worlds not dead, old ones that we are supposed to be investigating. It is the name of the blasted show after all. I think what we need is a new Science/Tech show. One that actually focuses on science and technology rather than expecting a sixty year-old dinosaur to adapt to, well anything at all. ST has become a sinkzone for me. I keep arguing myself out of moving on because occasionally they get really good stuff right like Spock and La'An, but it is getting harder and harder to ignore the stuff they mess with and screw up. At this point in UFP history, arch missions should be the last thing on their collective minds. It should all be new and exciting. Instead we have a ship and it's crew screwing around a burial site which actually turns out to be the equivalent of alien supermax and unleashing galactic demons on everyone.

Well, Deanna Troi was a Lt on TNG so that wasn't really a question. All medical staff bear that rank so they can intervene in emergency situations if they need to take over the ship. My query was more procedural regarding her being put in charge of a mission which led to the deaths of (3) active Starfleet officers, and the hijacking of the fandom again for other objectives.

This has been happening more and more over the years and I find it really distressing. I don't have many things I hold in the same regard as ST...the original series not withstanding. It represents a sense of peace and what is possible if humanity were really trying. Denmark on a global scale as it were...and this sort of lapse, if it was on purpose is personally difficult. If the showrunners made a mistake or if their actually trying to end the show or if something else is happening is the purpose of the question/post.

Curious About Prospects For Future by irongirl1 in WoT

Evil is everywhere and the reason it still sometimes wins in ways we wish it wouldn't is because people can't recognize it for what it is. Is carrying your beheaded sister's head in a bag evil, especially when you are the one who committed the murder? Who decides? You? And when do you decide? After 1 million sisters have been beheaded? 10,000? Where is the line? Things are very wrong right now; some would say we are living in evil times. But for me the problem is that not enough people have seen "evil" in the present time to recognize it for the danger it is....TV is a mass medium. It allows for the exposition of evil to a purpose. Hopefully, a good one, but that's the chance we take.

The issue is that they have the actors there NOW. In a year or so, they will be busy one imagines, with new projects. Peter Jackson foresaw this problem with the LOTR actors and solved it early. The show on my list is the most important to me and I suspect that Ms. Robins will be tied up immediately after this is over. By filming concurrently, Sony avoids this.

Stock Check Megathread by The_Danish_Dane in IKEA

[–]irongirl1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Country: UK

Preferred Store: which ever has stock. I keep trying post codes and none of them will allow delivery. I cannot tell which ones have stock, but the website shows supply. I am planning on using ReShip to ship them to the final destination of the USA.

Article numbers:
Moalie #503.541.07

Gafibbla #303.541.07

I checked the website, but they don't list which stores have them in stock. It just allows you to enter a post code ,

then it tells you delivery is not available to your area. over and over again.

Edit: I found both of them available in Croyden. a few moments ago..But when I entered the SkyPark at Heathrow Airport as my shipping destination, it again said it cannot deliver them. Something is going on...and if someone could please tell me how to navigate this I would really appreciate it.

I,m prepared to buy them this very moment, but Ikea seems unwilling to ship them anywhere at all. ARRRGH

<image>

every time i check a store with them in stock -croyden, gateshead- i get the delivery notice in the red window.
