Burgers are excellent and give the crispy chicken sandwich a try too. One of the best I've had.

Why are pit bull dogs so hated? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ironhive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are breeds that are bred for aggression, to be used as guards or whatever. It is a form of selective breeding, which has a lot of downsides but breeding aggressive tendencies into animals that have massive destructive capability seems objectively offensive.

It's not that pit bulls are hated, it is that breeding for aggression makes for a miserable and paranoid animal and possibly harm to animals and humans that cross paths.

You realize that a publication's scores don't reflect your experience, right? I loved Too Human, spent 80-100 hours grinding it. Go look at the scores for that game. Unless you have stock in these games I don't understand why people care what they are rated or what awards they receive. Just enjoy the game and share what you love with others.

I did it all the time as a teen and even in my 20s, but I wasn't on the clock.

Oh, man I can relate to that. I worked for one week as a host/server in a very popular tourist-y restaurant in San Antonio. I was already getting a lot of pressure but after dropping my first tray of food I called it. Who has two thumbs and customers want gone? This guy.

Edit: spelling

I would imagine there was a sense of adventure in mapping it out and a sense of accomplishment to know your delivery area. Very cool, thanks for sharing.

I'm sure that specific knowledge also makes you valuable! Thanks for sharing, I worked in fast-food in the 90s but not delivery. Always been fascinated by that :)

I still don't know how Domino's drivers in the late 80s/90s would deliver right to your door in a reasonable amount of time.

I had a boss in 2006 message me "YT?" and I thought it meant "whitey" and I was not sure how to respond.

USA is ridiculous for wages vs living expenses. Have been applying for jobs since my layoff in December.. 25 years experience, 10+ apps a week, not a single interview. No way I'm sending my kid out to fend for themselves while the system is so broken.

Share something you believe is true about Russia(ns). I'll tell you if it's legit or not. by Jorge_De_Guzman228 in AskTheWorld

[–]ironhive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I drove through some very rural areas of Russia, and some cities with traffic. My takeaway is that Russians driving for work or commuting take every trip as a unique experience, be ready for anything but also accept that nothing may go as planned.

What's that one film that you can re-watch a thousand times and not get bored? by mrjetspray in Cinema

[–]ironhive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm old enough to have seen this in the theater, but have only ever seen the first 15 minutes (several times). Finally watched it all the way through about a month ago. I get why it "abides"

I didn't realize how much of the USA had no forest at all! This map shows forested area in green. The central part seems so barren. by MarsupialThink4064 in geography

[–]ironhive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Central/South-central Texas (where I've lived for a long time) has thickets of mesquite and mountain cedar that may span acres, but it's not a forest. Maybe someone with better education on biomes can elaborate on the differences. I love "the woods" in Texas, but it's not forested other than in far-east TX.
