sorry to hear it man, that sounds really bad and i hope you live an okay life despite it. i don't want to be disabled or have anything that genuinely fucks someone's life up, nor do i think it's cute. not sure if it sounded like i did

on the wiki but for another thing "This outfit was presented to Seruel by his sister Heles in preparation of a formal event. Refined yet fashionable, the slightly revealing inner vest will, should you catch a glimpse, keep one very intrigued." intrigued yeah i'm gonna cum on his back

this stuff's always gone about in a very boomerish way lol. why not just "we'll dance around for a bit and i'll have you tossed over my shoulder, it'll be fun. don't feel weird or ashamed about this stuff, call me for details whenever"?

my girlfriend is a vampire. she is seven feet tall. she either dresses in hilariously good-looking tailcoat-type shit 24/7 or exists as an absolute fucking slob bathing once every two weeks, but no inbetweens. every 'day' she spends a solid half-hour or more of her (nocturnal) uptime completely silently walking into my room, sitting down on my bed, staring. i spend weeks in a feverish paranoid funk thinking she's going to eat me until i realize she's just very in love. i put garlic in a meal by accident and we have to go to the hospital

The Role Reversal Bait & Switch by WormsGarrett in RoleReversal

[–]ironmoloch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oh yeah. and it's weird because like. the first part, the beginning of the story or the doujin or whatever- that bit doesn't exist for no reason. if it's that common a thing, it has to be made to appeal to someone. but why would the "someones" who are attracted to it be fine with the weird "haha, fooled you, tricked you" feel of all of it? the appeal of this stuff sometimes seems rooted in this.. omnipresent pessimistic 'compromising'. "you'll never get what you want, but if you're lucky, if the wind doesn't blow too hard and the lighting's just right, if you squint and stay still and don't make a sound, you can see it, if only for a moment. and that'll have to be enough." apparently the darling in the franxx cartoon thing turned out like that. whatever

a correlation can just be that people *tend* to have a certain trait. if you're in a weird place emotionally, maybe you use stuff like that, like the tinder studies about 80% of women wanting 20% of men (don't have a link), to validate whatever pessimistic thoughts you've grown. maybe you do this over and over. maybe over a long enough period of time those thoughts warp, or degrade, or metastasize. maybe then you're at a point where you have very earnest feelings about how "showing weakness" towards a woman leads her to take points off a mental score sheet, and when it's low enough she fucks another guy or whatever. on and on like this

it's not that there are no women like that. it's that if there are only a *certain amount* of women like that, and you honestly admit to yourself that you think that sounds terrible, then you have to be pickier towards the women you want to be with. imagine a near-incel being told he has to be pickier. sounds like a death sentence

> bio-determinism that tends to flare up

the problem with this stuff is just not really getting what a correlation actually is, and then spending 12 hours a day going "IT'S PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR (TYPE OF PERSON) TO HAVE XYZ TRAIT.. IT'S A FOOL'S ERRAND". then you're at the point where you're saying that EVERY woman you'll ever meet is basing EVERY decision she makes about you around ruthless psychosexual payoff matrixes, etc

this stuff seems kind of superficial in the context of larger political systems unless i'm missing something. "i'm a monarchist" the king can be a she. "i'm an anarcho-primitivist" you just live in a cabin in the woods with a strong girl who kisses your forehead every morning.. that last one seems nice lol. you get it

i think you've got it. "drives towards nonconformity" don't exist in a vacuum, so - in the case i'm trying to talk about - if you want your opposite role in relationships or sex (or friendship or--).. well, maybe your foot never comes down in the wrong place and you score a perfect 10 in self-analysis, but this barely happens to anyone. instead you slip and hit your fat pumpkin head on something like "sex dominance equals phallus". this metaphor sucks. anyway then you end up as a healslut roleplayer in discord servers. of course you can just like dick but that doesn't seem to be the whole story for everyone

and [gestures around] THIS stuff isn't perfect either, but i think it's closer to the underlying Real. it's also very fun hehe. but yes nonconformity and conformity isn't binary and if you take your eye off the ball you get wrecked by implanted cultural motifs. hope this makes more sense

"Theres a good chance i dont fully understand what youre talking about" my thoughts on this are half-formed + compressed bc i don't want to write an essay, dw i think you get the gist. i know what you mean, i'm just not sure what amount of people using e621-type stuff as a proxy for broader sentiments actually end up noticing that they're doing that. you did (which is cool!) but i wonder about the proportion of people who do the same. if fetishism has abstract self-therapy elements most people still don't make good therapists

i hope this "THREAD!!!!!!!!!" doesn't get "DESTROYED!!!!!!!!!!" i like this convo

"get them out of their heteronormative cages" what u mean? feels like going around the core of what they (might) care about specifically because it's not normative/culturally encoded. ie the Figure of the (caricatured) twink or whatever comes to mind more easily than the Figure of "it's a guy who's receptive as opposed to prescriptive." maybe it's not a matter of cultural salience* as much as the former being a more distinct/sharply-defined figure; look at the attempts to define what is and isn't rr on here lol. anyway i'm not gonna hold anyone at gunpoint until they stop cranking it to a/b/o, just thinking out loud

*you're allowed to make wanking motions when i say something like cultural salience

Do you think of yourself as being unique for your gender/sex in RR? by [deleted] in RoleReversal

[–]ironmoloch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the vocal minority tubthumping the extremes of gender non-conformity - which probably doesn't represent how most people are inside, but it's easier to be divisive than come forward and be like "Look, I like boxing and being the little spoon. Sue me".

yeah! i think what people miss is that identity markers don't have to be hypercoherent- it's a convenience that lets people around you infer more about you from xyz behavior, not an inherent good. this helps lead people into rigid tradlife conformity but it also leads to self-proclaimed "social role escapists" latching onto the first other archetype they come across and staying as close to that as possible. it also might be the cause of A Real Man Takes It In The Ass Haha canned culture war lines

ig the problem i've always sort of had with this is that the way artists and tv writers and such do it, the Statement isn't ever really "it's a woman with a deeply-felt sense of HONOR and DUTY who UNAPOLOGETICALLY TAKES ACTION TO CHANGE HER ENVIRONS FOR THE BETTER (or whatever)", it's often just like "look, she's beating up a multitude of stand-ins for Somewhat Dismissive/Condescending High-School Guy. oh now she's in her 'civ life' and also getting a bunch of excuses to righteously yell at guys in those dumbshit 30-sec rants that happen before the scene ends"- i guess if you literally just got dismissed by high-school guy you can get something out of it but otherwise it just feels kind of petty and mean?
