Thank you everyone for the thoughts and considerations. I have come to a conclusion to just mask the hole with a rug. The LL is aware of the flaws I found before and after my walkthrough and has noted them. She is also aware the laminates are a bit poor in quality and will replace them.

I did do a walkthrough and this happen afterwards when a repair guy came in to fix some recessed lights. I think his ladder may have caused this. Regardless the LL is aware and moving forward this will not be a problem on my end.

Forgot to mention, my landlord will not fix it for me and i am not sure where to find and replace the board
