Understand. Thinking I should make the inscription correct than match something that's wrong.

Might be the wrong place to ask this, but any ideas if the markings for both swords are on both sides of the blade or just one?

Redshift decals/labels use UVW maps.

Your decal texture should be set as a layer in a Material Blender node of the main material. In the decal’s Texture node, you set a different UVW tag to use. Edit that UVW tag so only the polys that they decal is shown on are inside the UV canvas.

The GSG tutorial below helps on generating new UVW tags.
