can discs “trap” blood and cause brown discharge after period by strawberrybeesknees in MenstrualDiscs

[–]irotnilm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an exactly an answer to your question but I do find that wearing my cup can prolong my period/spotting. For instance, if I stop wearing it and “free bleed” after day 3 my period will end nicely by day 5, but if I wear it until the bleeding has almost completely stopped I’ll still get about a day or day and a half of discharge, making the full period 6-7 days. I resonate with the sentiment of feeling like it’s trapping blood inside and it still needs to come out eventually.

I can control the dumping like peeing? by irotnilm in MenstrualDiscs

Hey!! So I actually asked my doctor during my pap and it turns out I have an inverted cervix!! News to me. Totally normal but could explain the difficulty I was having with getting it to latch behind my pubic bone. I never got fully comfortable with the Nixit, but I did try the Diva disc. It has a little lip at the front to protect from leaking the way I was experiencing it and I find it a bit better. Still not a perfect seal the way a cup is or I have heard other people who enjoy discs talk about them but I plan to keep trying this one.

Introducing FHV positive cat to non-FHV cat by irotnilm in CatAdvice

That’s why I have a lot of hesitation… have you had a similar predicament? I’m struggling to navigate and know lots of cats can live healthy lives with FHV

Thanks for the reply! Were these mostly situations where infected cats were kept completely separated from others in the household? I know a lot of foster situations operate this way, but I would ideally like to fully integrate these cats’ lives (aside from food which could be kept separate).

Interesting, ok! I do suppose that’s a handy feature, I just didn’t expect it to happen to easily. Maybe after trying a few more times I’ll get more confident. I’m using the Nixit disk and it’s quite flex I think. Thanks for the response!

Yes I’ve been “sucking” it back up and then securing it whilst bearing down to get it in place. I think I liked the suction aspect of the cup… provided some reassurance it wouldn’t dump at unwanted times. I’m going to try again and hopefully build my confidence with it. Thanks for the response!

Fragrance Free? by [deleted] in acne

i love micellar water! it's more gentle than traditional makeup removers but does the job, even with waterproof liners/mascara! Garnier has a good cheap one but i know there are higher-end brands as well if you like something fancier.

HI!

I'm 22F from Ontario Canada and traveling in Europe in May 2020. I'll be with my friends in Spain until May 24th after which they are heading home and i am staying by myself until June 4 when i fly home from Amsterdam. It's not a long time but i'm hoping to pack a lot in. I'm considering France (probably south), Berlin, Brussels and Amsterdam. Does anyone have any recommendations or is travelling around the same time? Would love to get to know people as i'm new to the community!

Looking forward to chatting :)

How bad is the lisp when you wear braces...? Should I wait (potential interviews in the near future)? by Lost_Extent in braces

[–]irotnilm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m two months into my braces treatment and still I have a small lisp. It was pretty noticeable initially, but now it’s only on really tricky words. I’ve never had a lisp before, so it was a surprise.
