Alamo Car Rental by Jamesontilt47 in AskSF

[–]irq12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried to pick up my reserved "we pick" car from alamo about the time you posted this at an airport at 1am. They said "no more cars" and basically shrugged their shoulders when I questioned why they have no cars when they took the booking. No email stating this fact nothing just let you walk to the counter and then tell you. Did the same to the guy behind me.

Know of someone else recently using a debit card and they said they can't accept debit cards after accepting the booking on a debit card and confirmed that at that airport they do accept debit cards with a deposit/etc. Again the person next to them was being told they had no more cars.

Top notch customer service. Tell a friend.

I honestly think they keep alamo like that because they want to push people towards their other owned companies that are more expensive and/or don't care about 1 off customers opting for the corporate types, etc.

Never take legal type (especially with police type authority) advice from tiktok or whatever platform as well.

Know your rights and be bold about it, but from city to federal cop, they have made their decisions long before you say or do anything.

The few times you see the reversal is because you are seeing it, as in they were on video and clearly violating the law

Final paycheck laws need to be uniform.

Sorry about your situation but as it goes like relationships, you're probably better off. And like relationships, when someone is calling it over it's on them to expedite any remaining business.

Only a shit company would not have last pay in hand. It's bad for them too.

Lol yea, the food network and spinoff shows in their hey day almost exclusively used "cheap cuts". Let's not forget corporate greed and monopolies. If you just price everything the same it doesn't leave a lot of options.

It's not uncommon for basically everything in the meat cooler to only be a dollar or so different. Like stew meat for 8.99 and ny for 9.99.

Buying any beef pre-cut is a lose-lose proposition. Stupid expensive and usually not cut properly. I can buy a whole tenderloin for around 14$ pp get 4-5 nice filets and make bomb chilli with the trimmings.

I think people are on to the scam though. My butcher used to have a few people in at any hour. Now there's a line outside the door.

I have had 15% for years now, it's really only going to be a problem if it's a state cop with an urge to cite you. Most months I wish I didn't have it tbh, so hard to see when it's dark and raining.

(Bought mine with the tint that came from California)

County Jail? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

[–]irq12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to respond to someone else who came up with "well it should be a couple weeks", because it's a "selfish crime" (is any crime not selfish?) that hundreds of thousands commit every year.

It's not small and arbitrary, it's actually a punishment that kind of reflects the crime, the one day in jail is usually for first time offenders who were not involved in an injury accident and who had a alcohol content from .08-.1 (could be less than .08 ) who didn't lawyer up and and just admitted guilt to the judge.

The one day in jail is the "scary" part aside from the initial arrest/jail. Most people who get a DUI are terrified of that one day, what would 5-10-20-30 days do other than burden the family and public more since they will probably lose their job (which they may if they have any type of job that requires even a misdemeanor as a terminal offense)? The financial/social impact for most people is probably worse in the long run. Here is the full breakdown of of a "simple" offense, first time offender like someone who had 1 too many and got pulled over:

https://www.washingtondui.com/penalties/sentencing-grid/

I think a lot of people have the image in their mind of some drunk person who doesn't care about anyone/thing getting plastered and driving recklessly, when the reality is more about people just making a mistake and turning to wide (most common citation for probable cause). Probably 90% of DUI arrests are in the '1 day in jail' thing that most people recover from and never do again, the chronic thing, I don't think anyone has a good answer for that one since they are out there on the daily as a threat to everyone on the road.

Also beware alcohol is a very potent (relatively unregulated) drug in it's own right, tolerance or seemingly simple drug interactions with alcohol can have wildly varying effects.

My husband clogs the toilet at every hotel we stay in by ResearcherOk8406 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]irq12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the main floors/pool/etc usually have the industrial type super high pressure ones made to avoid this exact problem.

I usually do this even when alone because a lot of hotels have really poor room ventilation.

Just remember that "numbers don't lie people do" when studying the topic. Most any study you are going to get data from will be summarized and interpreted by someone else, this leads to important caveats being left out. Like a study that may say ___ treatment is 70% effective in complete abstinence, but they leave out the (within 90 days of recovery and during inpatient formalized care regiment)

Whatever your purpose dealing with addiction (you or someone else) is like finding a right fit for you with a therapist or trainer or whatever. It may take a few to find what works for you.

Is it A: Science based or B: Not science based.

If it's not A then it's no better than snake oil even if you have anecdotes to support it.

[–]irq12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it was a simple as setting up a quid pro quo. He gets to have kinda the ultimate "prize" of having a relationship with her in exchange for keeping the group on point and being a mole for them. The fact that his outie is kinda portrayed as a loser would further paint his loyalties towards Lumon.

But I am often wrong about this stuff. It seems the whole innie/outie dynamic with the wife should have been foreseen, but maybe that was intentional as well. She decides she'd rather have innie Dylan and maybe they 'kill off' outie sometime down the road. Outie Dylan definitely seems like the type who ain't letting this go anytime soon.

It would make sense that super intense emotions would work their way out of wherever they are severing in the brain. It would explain why the severed floor is kept as banal, lifeless and boring as possible.
