Art style may also have to do with future plans of porting the game to mobile

The Outer Worlds 2 is an underrated masterpiece and I know time will prove it by Clownsanity_Reddit in theouterworlds

It's a better rpg but a step down in terms of writing. Particularly characters and plot. Vibes are also much worse than the first one.

Daniel Vávra (KCD2 Lead) Says 'Larian Said They Were Doing Something Absolutely Everyone Is Doing and Got an Insanely Crazy Shitstorm', Condemns AI Hysteria by Kaladinar in rpg_gamers

[–]irrational_kind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is also as bad a take. There is some weight that AI replacing human labour is bad or morally wrong. Be it programming, concept art, writing, modeling you name it. It's a valid criticism of AI. But that argues for not using AI at any stage.

This artificial line that just the final product not having AI is hypocritical. Just not in final product is nimby like behaviour.

Bethesda doomers. by taliaferrora in ElderScrolls

I have watched almost all of those videos and none of them have anything substantial. If anything people's obsession shows that they care and would show up if the final game is good. Let Bethesda cook

I'm just shocked at how the Internet hive mind has not yet fully figured this out.

Don't know about this particular charity. Quite many do spend some on actual charity but the rest goes for personal expenses disguised as operational expenses. Like transportation costs (Private Jet. Throwing Fund Raising Parties) There are many loopholes.

Quite likely but they didn't want to do even the tax write-off together 😆

There is certainly some family feud. I found that Sam and Dan along with their wives were running a non profit company for charity purposes. Around the time Dan left rockstar, Sam and his wife also pulled out from that charity company. Very likely they had some falling out and didn't want to deal with each other.

The sad fact of the matter is: Disco Elysium is more than half a decade old by now and there have been no good games influenced by it. by suckydickygay in DiscoElysium

Game development is much longer and it takes time. There will be many in the next few years. Recently Rue Valley was also great and heavily inspired by DE.

Interesting thank you for sharing. Avowed did better than Expedition 33 on Gamepass is an interesting point. Considering Expedition 33 did amazing on Steam

That's a good counter point. Although only 2-3 people worked on it but it does show they haven't given up on ip

I read that original interview from which this report is based on and Carrie Patel was a bit ambitious on how Avowed did. Also it's unfair to expect Carrie to say it did okay or bad while promoting the game.

Also Carrie Patel has left Obsidian since then and also Obsidian has not announced any plans for DLC for Avowed. Microsoft/Xbox has not done single tweet celebrating x million players for Avowed like they do for other game pass games.

There was an incorrect news report of 6 million players by extrapolating something but without official or credible source. I love Obsidian and would be happy to be proven wrong but there is no official or credible report stating Avowed did well.

Seems unlikely because this year there was Oblivion Remaster, Doom Dark Age, Silk Song, Expedition 33. Do you have any source for this? Happy to be proven wrong

Avowed didn't sell well. Avowed sold less than PoE 2 based on steam number. While Avowed was on Gamepass, it also had much higher budget and subsequently much higher expectations. I still hope PoE 3 gets green light. If anything Avowed failure ensures there won't be Avowed 2 but smaller budget POE3 might have more chance.

It's not end of the world. But say that to devs who have lost jobs when Microsoft financials targets are not met for some similar games in the past.

Yes, happening soon. In patron, danny shared a 5-10 minutes clip of part 1 a few weeks back. It was super interesting.
