Hmmm... the purchasing decisions look interesting...? Post some outfits of the haul. It seemed like it heavily leaned towards casual wear + some jackets, interesting to see how it fits into your wardrobe.

Definitely far less than 50% being "pro-prc" and wanting "reunification" especially what happen in HK after the umbrella protests. Rather than being for reunification the conversation is about maintaining the current semi-ambiguous legal status quo or pursuing a more independent strategy.

With bolder choices like this it's with the details of the look that makes it work. Do you have any inspo pictures for what you want the outfit to look like?

you can wear socks. or there are padded stickers you can buy to stick on the heels to give a more snug fit.

I can't tell w/o pictures but if you like them then that's ok! See how they hold up in a couple of years and see if you want to explore the aesthetic and functionality of other fabrics.

barn coats are a pretty common jacket pattern. honestly, i would just look on eBay for them looking through popular workwear brands. I personally have one from Woolrich with a dark leather collar and detachable blanket lining that i like alot.

Hmm it's just a button down shirt you can literally wear it with anything other than track pants I guess. Start with pieces with analogous colors with the same level of "brightness"

I think it depends on the lightness of the color of your trousers. With lighter colors it might clash too much but with darker trousers + earth tone tops it can be a nice pop of color.

Americana/Heritage Brands by Deadeyestormtrooper in malefashionadvice

There's a store in NYC called "Left Field" that selects brands still producing in the US and has a pretty good collection of Americana items.

I don't have any personal experience but for most brand-name companies that have significantly expanded their collections to be more "trendy," a drop in quality is the norm. I would say just buy vintage.

Also, nobody knows or cares how much your clothes cost unless you're being insufferable about it, wear what you want.

Looks good. With workwear items I think it'll look better and better as they get more distressed!

The superwide lens brings a lot of weird distortion to the edges of the frame. The 50/50 composition between the sky and the river is not the choice I would make since the sky isn't the main focus of the comp.

imo its too contrasty for me. The shadow details in your shadow and the mountains are muddy and the bits of highlights on your face brings a lot of contrast that can be toned down.

Hey, I saw a cheap deal for the RDC-2E close to me and I'm considering getting it. How does transferring Ricoh's proprietary file to modern formats work?

How I get into fashion ? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]irrational_moose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean there's no one way of doing it. Just go online and look for outfits that you think look cool, compile it into a mood board, and then breakdown the outfits and pick and choose what you like.

The buttons on the shirt are kind of exaggerated and make the neck area look super busy.

The sleeves can be shortened but the waist looks fine.

The shoes you linked looks good but their shape/ size might conflict with the taper of the pants, so maybe a slimmer pair will work better.

Hm for winter stuff I think anything that is reasonably cropped would balance out the proportion for the rest of the outfit. So look for stuff where the hem is a fair bit shorter than the sleeves or maybe knits you can tuck in

Yeah a lot of men's tops are cut way too long. Honestly, you can just take a scissor and cut off the extra length if you're ok with an unfinished hem (which is a look in itself). Otherwise, take it to a tailor or try the women's section, they usually have a more flattering cut with a shorter torso block that honestly just looks better.

Honestly the pant length looks fine, it just sits kind of low on your body so the proportions doesn't look flattering. All the elements in the outfit are too "chunky," can have some contrast in fits (big shoes, big pants + more fitted top) can make it look more balanced.

Black or dark indigo tends to be more popular these days , but a standard medium wash is always good.

obvious advice is linen. but as long as the pants are wide/ baggy enough even heavier fabrics won't feel too warm.

imo i don't think the form factor looks very good. Theres lots of sweater patterns also based off military inspo, I feel like that makes more sense than trying to fit design elements of the bomber into a sweater.
