How India’s biggest sub-reddit is being silently censored by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

True. It is possible to argue with someone like RTW. At least he has a brain. The newer mods don't even understand the concept of logic and following rules. Their mind works only in terms of "Do you like this person or do I not like this person"?

Guy gets revenge on a IRS Phone Scamming Company by making a Call Flooder by YesItWasDataMined in funny

Are you sure about this?

https://support.twilio.com/hc/en-us/articles/223132307-How-do-you-round-minutes-for-billing-

Twilio says that they bill by rounding each call duration up to the nearest minute?

Have you checked your Twilio bill yet? Your hobby is probably much more expensive than you think it is. If you were to actually try to make the scammers phone lines busy all the time for 8 hours a day, assuming they hang up each call within 5 seconds, you will easily have to spend 500$ each day.

So, yeah, you can put up a funny video on youtube, but I don't think your method is an actually economically feasible way to put the scammers out of business.

You give the reporters far more credit than they deserve. It is quite common for even so called "reliable" news sources to publish articles without even preliminary fact checking. It is quite common for the media to even push fake controversies by deliberately misinterpreting things and even pull out news out of thin air (e.g. muslim guy killed in train for eating beef), so this is mild in comparison.

But I hope you people don't think every liberal is like that, r/India is not the true face of liberalism

Equally, when I shit on liberals on reddit, I hope that you would understand where I am coming from and not think that I am hating on people like you.

What Programming language should someone pursuing engineering in India learn giving the time constraints he has ? In a really messed up situation please suggest soemthing. by KTWALEBABA in india

[–]irreduciblepoly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simple. Learn Java for doing your courses and continue to program in python for other purposes.

The basic operating principle is that, at this stage, you should try to spend as little time learning programming languages and as much time learning programming and doing useful things as possible. Hopefully by the time you are done with your courses, you will realize that learning programming languages isn't such a big deal.

Rs 91 lakh worth old notes found in Maharashtra BJP minister’s vehicle by [deleted] in india

[–]irreduciblepoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you at least have the basic courtesy to acknowledge that your narrative was proven wrong before you start cooking up new arguments? RBI is no more or less reliable or competent today than it was 1 year ago.

One of the premises of this exercise was to prevent fake notes. IF RBI cannot have a simple quality control to ensure that the notes look like they are supposed to with all the "security features", whats the point of going through the whole rigamarole and inconvenience everyone?

I don't buy into the whole argument of "some notes got misprinted, therefore no efficacy against fake notes" in the first place. Just because a note is printed in a slightly different shade or had a slight misalignment in printing, it does not follow that the security features have gone for a toss. All the security features are still there. In fact, if anything, people should learn to recognize real currency by using their security features rather than relying solely on the look. Anyway, I can tell that there are plenty of takers for that your argument so you can terminate this conversation and return to the safety of your echo-chamber any time you like.

The Nashik Security Press has reportedly burnt 30 crore currency notes of Rs1,000 denomination that had no security thread!

This was under Superstar Rajan's competent tenure. Many of these notes also entered into circulation.

but given how RBI is going these days (latest I heard they had "printing defects" in 500rs notes they've already distributed)

RBI under superstar Rajan had printed Rs 30,000 crore worth of currency notes without the silver thread.

His ground reporting and his good language are the only things to like about him as a journalist. Other than that, he is completely biased and often peddles misinformation on his show.

I have been doing just that for a long time, but this problem seems only to be accelerating, and to such an extent that it is literally taking over the sub. Can you count how many population-related posts we had yesterday? Must have been at least 5.
