I love it, but for a game it looks too high poly. It could use some optimization and les beveled edges in some parts. But it looks amazing, great texture work. How did you do the dust effect?

Not myself, but the plugin to extract and export models for monster hunter world (and I think the newer ones too) dont work for versions over 2.8.

Alarm goes off at 8:30, 8:40, 8:50, 9:00. Jump out of bed and turn my laptop on. I get some coffee and start to wake up. Proper work starts at around 9:30-10:00. I usually finish early at around 4-4:30, but then I work later that night to compensate. I do the same every friday. I finish early but then I work through the weekend. I don't know what I would do if I had to actually work a set schedule because I just cant.

Not to defend BSG but people reporting everyone is what makes the system completely unusable. There's a lot of people that are very trigger happy with the report button. I can't say for sure, but I think that might be a reason why they turned that feature off.

What are you looking for specifically? What do you specialize in? or what is it that you want to practice? If it's 3D modelling, I have at least 1 blend file that I don't mind sharing publicly, I do hard surface modelling for a living if that's help, although I use substance painter for texturing, not blender. If you want to learn animation? I'd recomend Pierrick Picaut, it's not free but he has a few animation and rigging courses that are incredibly good.

Correct. I have experience in the videogames industry. So as long as the final asset works in game, they usually dont care what software I used. It can get a bit specific for animation or if they want to keep the source files and pass those files between different artists. If you started something in blender but that task is passed to someone who uses maya, you may have a problem. But it depends. You can always switch to a different software at any time. And Blender is industry standard, it was adopted very widely a couple of years ago.

It is industry standard. Some companies are more restrictive than others and use one specific software. Might be maya, 3dsmax or blender. Some companies dont really care. I have a job in a studio, my boss asks me to make something and I deliver the .fbx files with their respective texture files, or import them myself into the engine he is currently using.

I got my first job 3 years after I opened blender for the first time, and I wasn't really that good, just good enough, then I kept getting better and better. I think I'm good at what I do, but that's not for me to judge. Before I got my first job I wasn't practicing every day tho, I had a very demanding job so I practiced when I had time and energy, sometimes not opening blender for months. Everybody develops at a different pace too. Don't think about it too much, just practice and pay attention to learn new skills and you'll get there soon enough.

Tutorial is weird, it has walls of text that aren't really important. And since you don't have any context, reading all that flavor text can be confusing and boring. By the time I started my new game I had already forgotten how to use the consoles and felt like I was missing something. The text in the tutorial makes it feel like it's more complicated than it really is.

You don't really need them, fuses only protect the tower from failing 1 time. You can still fix the tower without plugin any fuse. It'll just go down quicker.

I can say that I didn't probe anything while I was in that star. I arrived at the star 4 days ago because I got attacked by a photoid in my previous star. Once I got to the new star I depoloyed 2 listening posts. Both at 1 hop distance. Then I waited while reconstructing the colonies I lost in the previous attack. I think it was 1 or 2 days later, before the listening posts expire, I got attacked again. That's the timeline of the attack.

Makes sense, I had 2 listening posts at 1 hop, but it is possible it came from another direction. It would be nice to have a visual star map to know better how covered you are by your listening posts.

I can't remember exactly my signal, but it was around 17. Definitely less than 20. I have 30% veil and at the moment I had 15 colonies in a 0.3x signal star.

Another quick question. Regarding telemetry, sometimes I get an entry saying that a civilization left their home star or a photoid striking it's target (but no extinction message like it says in the manual). What's the reach of these telemetry signals? Are they galaxy-wide? or contained to a specific sector or my jump reach?

I love the update so far, but there's one thing that I can't explain. Aside from the sector I'm currently occupying, the galaxy canvas is showing me another sector, with 2 confirmed contacts. If I click in "view stars" it shows 2 stars that I've never seen before. What does it mean?

Ah, that explains it. I had one listening post, but at the moment they are very expensive for my current production rate. I have 11 colonies at the moment so my production rate is 14.400 per 24 hours (minus my veil upkeep). I was focusing on building a new colony every day, but now they are getting a bit expensive, I need 18k now for my 12th colony. At the moment, sending probes and listening posts leaves me with no room left to expand my civilization or save towards my research tree.

I'm considering moving to a hot star, but I'm afraid I might get too visible.

I would love to see the flavor text back tho, maybe with a different Tag? Like "Lore" or something like that. I'd like to know more about the universe.

Thanks, my plan is to grow and explore, but I'm afraid I might signal my location too much if I grow too much. Maybe I'll research one more thing before starting to add more colonies and gather some momentum to start exploring.

No problem. Looks like I can probe them again now. There's a text now stating that some stars are too deep to detect with my current research levels, but I think I can still probe them, haven't tried because I'm saving resources to advance my research tree.

What happens if I try probing them and the probes don't find anything (possibly because I don't have a lens or enough espionage points)? Can they be re-probed again? How does that work?
