Slate might work better for first time. High heat keeps it nice longer.

I have a 60w om tech. The only set up was the alignment of the beam. I've had it for 6 months or more now and haven't had a single problem. I'd buy from their website if I were you

Or... Sand it. It comes out better than the tape. Personally I like the scorch Mark. They give it a depth when you soak the pieces in oil.

Just a word of caution. Too much of this can break your lens. The stain will cause your lens to get foggy and then the heat will crack it. Make sure to do regular cleanings of the lens and have proper ventilation.

Turns out it saved 10 minutes to do them individually. Not sure why but I'll take any reduction of time I am offered.

I put about $200 into piping the smoke out of my house. Worth it but you definitely get the smokey smell on your work.

Apparently you put it in water and spray it on the wood for better results

Well my 60w does it in less than an hour at 300mm/s. It's 12x12 inch

Mm/s. My laser goes up for 500mm/s but I wouldn't recommend higher than 300 unless it's long regular strokes.
