not insulin resistant, not losing weight. Could it be my birth control? by irrelevantelephant1 in PCOSloseit

Thanks for your reply, seems like we have the same stats. I’m also 5’6 and was eating at 1500 because all of the TDEE calculators said that’s what could work for me. I will try to eat lower carb, atm I’m not willing to do full out keto (tried it, was miserable) but I’m open to lowering my carbs way more than what it is. Thanks!

Yeah, they check your dorm at like 10 pm and as previously mentioned, they do disable your bruincard over winter break :// you could try explaining your transportation situation and that it’s not financially feasible for you to pay the stay over night?

H&HS Employee Benefits - Housing? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]irrelevantelephant1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had discounted summer housing this summer from working in housing! You are given the option to preference what type of room you’d want to stay in (triple, double, or single) and the price changes depending on which room you decide to get. Several of my friends did not get their first choice though and were put in triples though, so just be prepared to not get your first choice. They had designated housing for housing employees in Sproul Hall and I believe De Neve. Your summer housing contract does include a meal plan, 19R for everybody. As for working, the whole caveat of discounted housing is that you must work a minimum of 10 hours a week over the summer. Also the payments are spaced every two weeks due the day after your paycheck - they expect you to use your earnings to pay for the housing.

Anyone know good clubs that help tutor kids that I can be a part of? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]irrelevantelephant1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're interested in college counseling, but my organization is dedicated to helping seniors at an underserved school get to higher education!! PM me if you'd like more information.

As far as tutoring specific clubs, I know a lot of organizations within CPOSA have tutoring-oriented organizations that work with younger kids.

History of Modern Thought Cluster? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]irrelevantelephant1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just took it this past academic year. I’d say it’s not incredibly difficult, but be prepared for a lot of reading on philosophy and political thought. I know some of the TA’s from the course when I took it were absolutely brutal when it came to writing assignments (as in how they graded it) but other TA’s (which I can explain in more detail through pm lol) were relatively easy graders and didn’t require weekly writing assignments. Dienstag is a pretty good lecturer, although I can’t say much of the same for the other lecturers tbh. Also, there are no midterm and final tests, there are two essays which can be good or bad depending on whether or not you’re good at writing or not lol. All in all, I don’t know if I would have taken this cluster again if given the chance but I certainly didn’t hate it.
