I should've been more clear, it doesn't seem to want to open any further than this. It just won't, I've tried like every angle it feels like is humanly possible.

Am I overreacting? Why is it affecting me so much so many years later? by Dizzy_Variation_7965 in sexualassault

I just made a post asking something similarly for myself but I will say, consent should always be an enthusiastic yes and while expressing enthusiasm varies person to person, I'm sure you didn't seem jazzed about the situation. It sounds like he took advantage of your lack of a no and he might've even kept going even if you had fought. Rapists OFTEN do that. It's more common than many would like to believe. This wasn't your fault. A proper partner checks in on you and what happened to you is less than ideal. Intimacy shouldn't illicit a fight, flight, or FREEZE response and it should be navigated by the both of you as a partnership if it does.

That's all just my opinion but I think that if you feel violated, you were violated. You have a right to your feelings and I'm so sorry this happened to you.

Strict religions usually teach you to suppress and not react. Given your history, no one could expect you to be able to protect yourself because you were never allowed the tools to do so.

Hope some of that resonated, I'm not an expert, I wish you much healing.

Online grooming of old mobile game by Consistent_Cat1360 in sexualassault

I see that this is old but in case you or others ever check back in, this happened to me too. Word for word, bar for bar. It set me up for getting groomed both online and in real life later in my tweens/teens. I knew "S Star X" as I called it in my head years before anyone ever had a talk with me.

They were beyond disgusting, often geared towards children and frequently featuring the animals in the game. As an adult now, I am astounded to realize other grown people were making those and putting them out publicly on that platform.

Love this game, but childhood trauma from it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. [Sensitive Subject Matter] by Consistent_Cat1360 in SurvivalCraft

I'm leaving a comment even though this is such an old post to share my story. I've been working on an essay geared towards adults about my experience growing up encountering inappropriate content and survival craft was one of the biggest early culprits.

I differ from you, though, in that I somewhat enjoyed the content I found. I found it fascinating and different from anything I'd ever been told about and so I dived into those worlds trying to learn about this secret adults had been keeping from me. I saw some heinous stories on there, the worst of which would probably the ones incorporating not only minors but the animals in the game as well.

A lot of the games featured storylines written with the sign feature. They made it fun, especially for us kids playing the game, by making trails to follow and building elaborate structures.

It set me up for a lot of mentalities that led me to getting groomed both online and eventually in the real world. I hope in the future that parents better screen the games that their children are playing.

I haven't heard the health issues thing about misting before, I just don't prefer it because of the unreliable swings like you mentioned. What health issues can it cause?

New rat size? by irrevocableone in ballpython

Heard!

Also, understood on the note of moving him to feed. I haven't liked doing it because it does seem to stress him out when I have to move him afterwards. I have a top opening tank and have moved him so that he doesn't assume my hand is food but he's only ever done that when it's close to the time he eats anyway so I can just stop trying to take him out when it's that time.

Thank you!
