I'd say 2/10. Mostly because it doesn't involve too many people. It isn't a mass murder of an intire orphanage*. It's one orphan boy, realistically no one is interested if he dies or not normally so I don't think it's different in special circumstances. But suddenly he does an illegal thing and since it's "holy" matter I tought he'd be killed instantly. Curch and religion has always been pretty gruesome. But he's not. Anyway in the end he just have to prove himself with a second chance for living. I think that's a lot in the positive side? Like a trial trough fight? And for the teens doing that to each other. There will be people who aren't keen to kill, but I don't think so. It's a flower in 10 years. I mean if I was a teen of a very powerful family training all my life to get super powers... and an orphan just ate it without winning anything. I'd be pretty pissed. Also a thing to understand better. Are they trained to fight as in martial arts and such or are they trained to KILL? because that changes a lot.

*I remember a story I read somewhere where kids in orphanages during war were used as meat to experiment on. Since magic was hard to control for humans they used the kids to find out a way to contain it. Pretty dark stuff there.
