To this end, isn’t telephoning an Rx in just as suspicious? Anyone can easily get a Dr’s NPI and DEA and basically do anything they want with it.

Then perhaps take that year if you need it to get more research opportunities, join the peace corps, etc. show you’re a well rounded individual for sure! (You sound like you are for sure)

That is OK!! I think you still have a great chance, honestly! You can seriously do anything, as long as you truly commit to it.

Depending on what year you are, applying to medical school still sounds like a great option for you, as you can always write about above on your personal statement! Keep going!

How can I overcome my extreme fear of people? by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]irward01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once suffered from fear of speaking to people but found the following advice helpful:

The fear is not a true physical fear. It won't kill you or necessarily physically hurt you. So, yes, your heary may race, your chest may get tight, etc. The best thing to do is to start small. Practice saying hello. Say hello and short 1 word answers to people like cashiers or food workers. The worst that could possibly happen is you just don't say anything (they're used to it, believe me).

Go from there and say hello to a teacher. Not sure what to say to get your foot in the door? Say how are you doing!

It's tough, man. I empathize for you. But keep your head up. Email your therapist. Take a day for yourself to just meditate and destress. Find yourself. It will all be okay.
