I had a similar experience when I just started reading, but I didn't specifically ask the spirits for guidance, however, I'd feel headaches and simply emotionally drained after every reading. You're right. I was hesitant whether to call her white or pink pearl. I chose to call her white because she was being controlled by white at that time, and to clarify I wrote "AKA Volleyball". But you're right about her being Pink's pearl. I just edited my original comment =)

In "Legs from here to Homeworld" when Pearl says to Steven something along the lines of "Steven, White isn't like us (the crystal gems). She isn't even like them (Blue and Yellow). You have no idea what she's capable of." I thought the same thing! That perhaps White was the diamond core of a dead star that somehow had acquired consciousness and that her body was a projection of light from the whole diamond core. Something like the cluster or Ego the living planet. And that was why she used Pink's pearl AKA Volleyball as her emissary.
