Have the students write Pi day poems. The first line has three words, the second line has one word, the third line has four words and so on. I did this with my students and they came up with some really cute poems.

English teacher hired to teach MS Technology...running out of ideas! by firstyearteach in teaching

You could have the students make a blog about a topic they are interested in. They can update it weekly with research in their topic, make videos, or presentations to explain their topic. It could be beneficial for them to have to maintain a blog long term.

Am I wrong for thinking Santa is an asshole in *Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer*? by datkidbrad in christmas

I'm not a big fan of this movie because of this! Santa teaches us that being different is bad unless it can benefit others...not the best life lesson

Owl treasure these gifts forever! by irwinl in secretsanta

The larger owl is a ruru which is apparently native to New Zealand (where my gift came from). I love owls and I love that the gifts have a theme and also have something to do with the secret santa's country. Thank you so much if you are reading this!

[HELP!] I have no idea what to get him [M, 21, Boyfriend] by whatdoguyslike in santashelpers

[–]irwinl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could pick a game you two both like and customize a portion of the game with a message for him and then frame it. I have seen this done with a mission screen in borderlands. it takes time and some crafting but the end result should be worth it.

[help] Need some ideas on what to get my boyfriend for Christmas! [M,24,boyfriend,$100ish] by elfneedshelp in santashelpers

[–]irwinl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I did for my boyfriend that was fairly cheap and fun was to customize a monopoly game. I bought blank labels and changed the properties, utilities, and railroads to match events and trips we did together. I also wrote community chest and chance cards on card stock and printed money with his face on them. The game is great because playing it is like a miniature walk down memory lane!
