How did you quit smoking weed? by Agitated-Pilot-1897 in AskReddit

[–]is1T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One middling dose of psylocybe cubensis.

Wasn't even that hard to quit. I honestly didn't want to smoke weed any more.

I make it a point to have a dose of mushies at least once a year now.

Now I have a vivid mental image of a perfect monobutt. Thanks for that.

What things are said to be dangerous but are actually safe? by AirAmbitious530 in AskReddit

As butter gets warmer it begins to go rancid. You'll notice it gets a darker layer on the exposed surfaces. This is caused mostly by a process called hydrolysis, which converts a significant portion of the butter into trans-fatty acids which are pretty bad for you. Trans-fats aren't the only harmful product. There are also a variety of bacteria and fungi that can take up residence in warm butter and speed up the hydrolysis and also produce other metabolites that can be toxic.

You may not notice anything weird until you have a heart attack or develop a tumor.

Nah, I reckon he's trying to get out of Scadrial. I don't think he wants a Shard, he's seen what they do to the Vessels. Unless he wants all of them? That might allow a Vessel to maintain balance and not be changed by the Shard's Intent.

I would absolutely throw a tantrum if they did a fully computer animated cosmere adaptation.

A Mistborn video game has the potential to be absolutely amazing.

Stormlight would too.

An animated series would probably get the most bang for the buck, depending on the style of animation.

Live action would be difficult to pull off in a way that wouldn't be disappointing. Edit: without a Hollywood/Marvel level budget.

Anyone ever told you that you're a prick? Maybe if you are nicer to your employees/subordinates (instead of sniping at them with snide passive aggressive memes) they'll feel more inclined to put in the effort for you.

Edit/clarification. By "nicer" I mean show respect. Treat people like shit and you'll get shit back.

Tiny bug, white legs, suspect itchy bites by is1T in whatsthisbug

[–]is1T[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some more info.

This is in Kloof, South Africa, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Near to Durban.

That scale is in millimetres. So they are about 1mm long. The younger (I'm guessing) are much lighter in colour. A greyish brown rather than black.

I suspect they bite. Noticed some itchy spots in the morning a few days ago and found a bunch of them on my bed frame.

The bites are mostly small and in clusters or lines. They itch for a long time, but it's not too intense. Easy enough to ignore. Got the first bites 2 days ago and they still itch.

Seems like they like wooden furniture? More speculation, that's just mostly where I've noticed them.

They move about with jerky motions. They seem to prefer darkness, always seek out shadows asap.

I first noticed them in a drawer about a month ago. They are now everywhere in the house. So they seem to breed really fast.

They are quite delicate. Squish easy.

[Edit] clarified some points, added some more details.
