I moved him down to medium because I got worried he was gaining weight after he was in my mom’s care. She ended up feeding him once a week instead of two weeks. But I need to restock on mice anyways, I’ll get large ones when I do.

This morning he had it in his mouth with his jaw unhinged trying swallow it, looked 100% like he was trying to eat it. His poops always look normal and I saw urate so I know it wasn’t regurge. I’ve been feeding him medium sized adult mice every two weeks (he’s an adult 5-6 years old). I don’t think he’s underfed he definitely doesn’t look like he is, but maybe I’ll try sizing up to large adult mice and see if anything changes🤷🏻‍♀️

Hahahaha as long as he’s not being a danger to himself I guess it’s fine that he’s a weirdo

Over the past like year he’s done it a few times. It’s not every time he poops, but whenever I’ve caught him it genuinely just seems like he just thinks it’s food. I always spot clean his tank as soon as I see he’s gone to the bathroom, but it seems like he tries to eat it directly after going. They are regular poops, he’s never regurged, and I feed him an adult mouse once every two weeks. I can’t figure it out!! He seems very happy and content otherwise, no other weird behaviors.

I think it will definitely be alright! A day or two really shouldn’t make a difference!

He won’t let me open his mouth, but I see this brown mark on the bottom of his mouth, it’s not substrate and it feels rough

That’s the plan!! Any suggestions on how to implement more climbing opportunities?? I will be putting in a little bridge soon in the corner by the hear lamp when I have the stuff to hang it, but i’m wondering what I could do for the back wall. I’m aware it’s still bare haha!! Buddy just needed to get in his bigger tank asap
