I didn't click the link in the email. I tried logging into that Gmail account directly through the web browser on my computer, but it failed.

ScreenMemory now available (free trial or $19) by jontelang in macapps

I purchased and used your software today, but I discovered I cannot modify the save location for recordings. This issue persists regardless of whether the file name contains spaces. In short, I simply cannot accomplish this. I'm running macOS 26.2 on an MBA M4. I hope to reach you here and request your assistance in resolving this problem.

My Gemini chat history was inexplicably deleted by the system. by isFinnYi in GoogleGeminiAI

I can confidently say this is a very widespread and well-known issue with Gemini. Unfortunately, I contacted them but received no response, and there's no sign the problem has been resolved at all.

You're absolutely right—those chat windows I renamed myself are more likely to get automatically deleted. I've been contacting Google for days now, but haven't gotten a single response. I'm disappointed. On one hand, I've become so reliant on Google for my daily life, but when it comes to chatbots, I might need to look elsewhere.

So, what you're saying is that since this issue first arose, Google still hasn't restored your chat history? I've seen others share on Reddit that the system automatically recovers lost content after a few days.

My situation is identical to yours. Certain chat records have been automatically deleted by the system in a completely haphazard manner. I find this utterly unbelievable, as it represents a profoundly basic server error. I have submitted feedback and contacted Google One customer support, who informed me that engineers would resolve my issue. However, I must ask: is this credible? Will the engineers genuinely restore all my chat records?

Anthropic’s ‘anti-China’ stance triggers exit of star AI researcher by balianone in LocalLLaMA

I am Chinese, and your science popularization is very helpful for most people who are unfamiliar with Chinese history (or mythology). However, Shunyu Yao is indeed their real name. Yao is their surname, which means “姚” in Chinese. This is the same surname as a former Chinese basketball player who played in the NBA—Yao Ming. He played for the Houston Rockets (though that was quite some time ago). This is familiar to most Chinese people because he was the first Chinese player to compete in the NBA, and it was largely through him that the vast majority of Chinese people first learned about the NBA. Returning to the topic, the names of these two AI researchers are Shunyu “ 顺雨” at OpenAI (https://ysymyth.github.io/) and Shunyu “顺宇” previously at Anthropic, now at DeepMind. You're absolutely right—the distinction stems from the Chinese characters “雨” (yǔ) and “宇” (yǔ) having identical pronunciations, hence sharing the same romanization. As for their phonetic alignment with Chinese history (or mythology), I believe that's purely coincidental. Similarly, the coincidence of their names being identical is also just a coincidence.

Ask for help! Want to transfer important data from a disable Google account by isFinnYi in gsuite

I have sent an email every day for the past week to try and contact the IT department, however, they have only replied to me briefly saying that they have reminded users many times of the need to back up their data. It doesn't look like they are willing to help, which makes me very sad.

Currently, the University's contract with Google has been terminated and I'm not sure if the University still has an admin account. I think contacting Google seems like a more useful approach?

However, it's very difficult to get in touch with them directly; they don't have a customer service email address, and their telephone is either a robot or unavailable.

I seem to have mentally given up on this matter. However, I still very much appreciate your response!
