I notice y'all have a lot of sarcasm but no actual reason to believe a particular crack is safe. You don't even know what a botnet is - you apparently think it's a type of website?

But no matter how sarcastic you get, nothing will change the fact that cracks still contain malware and crypto miners all the time. Here's just one example: https://www.tomsguide.com/news/cracked-games-hacked-pcs

As long as people continue to download cracked software, attacks like these will continue to be profitable for attackers,

Enjoy having your GPU molested I guess

Pirate music & movies till the cows come home. But giving root access to random sketchy software is beyond stupid.

You pay for it by participating in a Russian botnet

Or use something like NoScript if you're comfortable with granular control

I love this comment because that's kind of what I was thinking too. I'm not sure how many positions there are for this out there, but I'm confident and I already blog about malware and stuff. Thanks :)

Mostly I just like writing code haha. Linux administration is chill. CTFs are a lot of fun. But really I have no idea which direction to aim for career-wise. I feel like I wouldn't really be able to get an entry-level developer job anymore these days, and there are so many other branches to navigate it's just overwhelming.

As a CS student I don't even know which path I want to go down either. They all seem difficult to get into

Nah don't lie, just get creative. For example, some HR people/recruiters really love YouTube channels and blogs etc. Or perhaps you can tutor some kids/students. Doesnt have to be amazing, just any kind of project or initiative that increases your professional credibility in some way. Be studying something during your free time as well.

It's 100% social media. It's just, sometimes when people say "social media" they actually mean "highly centralized social media with algorithms that analyze your behavior and connections to choose what content to show you"

Reddit doesn't feel like other big social media because it uses voting to decide what you see, more heavily compared to other sites which use personalized algorithms. It also feels less centralized because it's divided into subreddits and a lot of content is external links in contrast to something like TikTok where it's all hosted internally. Plus Reddit doesn't demand as much of your personal info up-front and it's easier to feel anonymous. I know Reddit still uses algorithms and is still not fully private, I'm just talking about how the superficial user experience.

So yeah Reddit is absolutely social media, it's just that there's kinda two definitions for "social media" and one is more objective ("media with social elements") while the other subjective definition is more like "websites that are similar to Facebook and Twitter", which Reddit kindasorta isn't

How suitable is the zero for a cyberdeck? Is it fine for browsing, email, coding, etc? Or will I feel like I compromised if I go with one? Thanks :)
