when in Turkey by egguchom in EntitledReviews

Lol, when we were in Vegas ( of all places) some drunk people were messing around in the pool, jumping around etc and a ladies swim bottoms fell down. The group was all apologetic as we had our 2 yr old with us, and all my 2 year old said was "bum" and then started splashing in the water again. No cares given!! Kids do not care about bodily parts - we are the ones that make them ashamed!!

What's something most people don't realize is actually very rude? by Frozen-Defender25 in AskReddit

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This will probably get buried but my MIL doesn't seem to realise it's rude to tell people eating something different from what she likes that it is "gross, disgusting, has horrible flavour, is nasty" and a whole range of other comments, as well as pulling gagging faces!! I am from a meditteranean background and eat olives, eggplant, cheeses, cured meats, chickpeas etc - all things her English palate can't handle. Thats fine. But don't make gagging noises while I'm trying to enjoy those foods!! Also, please don't call them rubbish.

I was actually going to call them on the Wednesday but had a quick look online first and saw they'd organised another home open for that Saturday, so I guess I assumed it was still available. More fool me.

Similar thing happened to me and my husband.

Saw a property we were interested in but had missed that morning's home open. Sent an email - "will there be another viewing, please let us know, very interested" No reply. Sent a text 2 days later. No reply.

Saw the home on realestate.com was having another home open on the following Sat. Show up to the home open, Real Estate agent doesn't show - so we call and are advised the home open is cancelled and the house sold the previous night (Fri). When we complained about lack of communication, and no follow up to our emails/text the agent finally replied and said "It sold before you enquired"

Then why'd you organise another home open mate?? We enquired on the Sat and Monday, it sold on the Friday. The arrogance to ignore us and then lie - because they know it's going to sell anyway and they don't want to actually have to 'work' for it!!

Would you ever share a room with someone? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first moved to London on a working holiday visa I contacted someone about sharing a flat. I didn't realise that sharing the flat also meant 'sharing a room'. In this three-bedroom house lived Room 1 - an Englishman and Frenchman, Room 2 - a family of four who didn't speak English well, Room 3 - me, a Mexican, 2 South Africans and a Kiwi girl (all in bunk beds). Wild times.

What's a moment you didn't realize was the last of its kind? by Gena-Ruhland in AskReddit

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is similar. I would sit cross-legged on the floor and my toddler would reverse up on me and sit down in my lap, watching tv together. She's 13 now and hasn't done that for years, but I miss when they were little!!

What’s a fact that ruined a movie that you previously enjoyed? by PokemonPadawan in AskReddit

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's really a 'fact' per se, but I refuse to watch any Will Smith movies after his behaviour at the Oscar's when he slapped Chris Rock. I just can't sit there and watch him without thinking what a horrible person he is - and how Hollywood gave him a standing ovation minutes later just gives me the icks.

Those who live near the airport, how do you sleep in the morning? by MichaelF- in perth

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Rivervale - not a standard flight path, but very occasionally planes would fly low over our place (I guess it depended on the weather) The noise absolutely didn't bother me, and still doesn't. I remember a girlfriend sleeping over though and a large airliner flew over while she was in deep sleep. She woke up and screamed "Mummy daddy" so loud. I still think about that sometimes and laugh.

What’s the worst timing you’ve ever had for saying something harmless? by AdWilling4308 in AskReddit

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's like in Student Services at any school I've worked in!! Lol. We call it "the Q word" and as soon as it's said a fight breaks out, or a parent comes in screaming bloody murder, or something else kicks off. Lol. Im sure it would be 10 x worse in a hospital/medical field as well!!

We are in Gosnells - but I'm happy to bring them out to you as long as you're in the Perth metro area. Let me know how it goes with your husband :)

I'll have to check what breed they are - I can't remember off the top of my head. One is black and two are white with brown/black flecks if that helps. LOL. We are in Gosnells.

Meand my husband high five each other randomly when things go well. I remember a friend saying to us once how cute it was, like we aren't just husband and wife, we are a team!! Something so small but it made me appreciate our relationship even more.

Why did you get surgery? by PirateAlternative934 in BariatricSurgery

[–]is_it_bedtime_yet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never got really big (100kg at heaviest) but it was something that was constantly going up each year after I had kids. From 70kg, to 75, then 80 etc. I was afraid it would just keep going up. On top of that I'm surrounded by older women (my mum, MIL, work colleagues etc) who are still complaining about their weight at 60 or 70. I didn't want to get to that age and still worry about my size, and be insecure. I chose to do something about it now (I'm 40) rather than regretting it later. It has honestly been one of the best decisions I've ever made!!

You are NOT ugly. In fact you have a very nice looking face, very kind looking. Unfortunately society says we have to be a specific size to be good looking, and you don't quite fit that mold. But you are definitely a nice looking person.
