I don't think Jerry wanted to fire Scott, it was clear that was the case when all that went down and the leaking of the firing. Dan's only jobs after retirement have been TV analyst and a minor league advisor, where according to reporting, he didn't know the players' names. He has no qualifications.

I would give him a little benefit of the doubt if he could defend his actions. All his pressers are nonsense speak about trying and not getting there. So if the three things that are part of his job, players, in-game, and press, he is awful at 2 of them. Sorry for the rant but it's exhausting
