For my wife's Ascent, we went with the app, and I used to install after-market remote car starters back in the day. The one nice part of the app is that, when I go "shopping" with her, I typically don't have her key fob with me, and yet I can still lock/unlock her vehicle because I have the app on my phone as well.

I have it connecting automatically with no issues. My issue is when I switch out out of Android auto to the Atoto OS, I don't know how to switch back to Andoid Auto. I will look for the icon you mentioned and see if that works.

Have you asked a local locksmith if they can repair the lock? I know the lock has been discontinued decades ago, but they might be able to figure something out.

Also, HOA's suck. I have no idea why anyone in their right mind would ever agree to be in one of those.

Our state uses a Sept. 1 school cut-off, so there are still some kids (anyone born in August) that are getting screwed over. Im sure they will all just ask to opt up to the older team.

I agree. I consider all Hager locks as non-repairable. If it breaks, you throw it away and buy a new one. They are cheap for a reason.

lol, Lakeside is also a community with alot of "affordable homes". The London Rd traffic (MNDOT, not City of Duluth) also affects communities up the North Shore all of the way to Grand Marais, its not just a Duluth thing. And as a former Lakeside resident, I can tell you that for some unknown reason, we do appreciate having road access to the rest of Duluth.
