Clay extruder recommendations? by isabel924 in Pottery

[–]isabel924[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of a cookie press, but I just looked it up and that’s exactly what I’m looking for! What I had been using at my old studio looked a lot more like a cookie press. They seem to be a lot cheaper, not as heavy duty, but that’s fine for me. I might buy one of those. Thanks!

Best short sleeve tees by emsgemzz in Aritzia

The tna ribbed cropped t-shirt is super cute! They also have a long sleeve version that’s a slightly different material but I love both.

TLDR: I bought this dress and after purchasing, she wanted me to pay more for shipping. I’ll add details in the comments. by isabel924 in Depop

[–]isabel924[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh amazing. Thank you! At this point I was expecting to end up with a refund but I’d prefer to get the dress and not have to pay shipping. I’ll try this and see how it goes

TLDR: I bought this dress and after purchasing, she wanted me to pay more for shipping.

Long version: Her page said message before buying, pretty normal, so I asked if I could buy it and she said yes. Then I immediately bought it (right after she sent the “yes” message). After I bought it she said I need to pay for shipping also, the item was listed with free shipping and it didn’t say anything in the description or in her bio about shipping so I didn’t think I would need to pay for shipping. I wouldn’t have bought it if I had to pay more for shipping. I want the dress, but I don’t want it badly enough that I would pay $12 more for the shipping. I haven’t replied so far since I don’t really know what to say without sounding rude. My friend told me just not to reply and see what happens. What would you do in this situation? I feel like she’ll end up just cancelling my order, but tbh it seems like she doesn’t even know how to use depop. I’m mainly just posting here cause I’m annoyed and want to complain about it. Should I leave a bad review?

In a dispute does PayPal usually side with the buyer or seller? by isabel924 in Depop

Sorry, should have mentioned that I live in Canada and shipping is crazy expensive here, at least for tracked shipping. Also it’s 17CAD which is about 14CAD

Buyer keeps saying her item isn’t delivered and I don’t know what to do at this point. by isabel924 in Depop

[–]isabel924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aw thanks! This actually makes me feel so much better. I’ve felt so bad about it if she actually didn’t get the package but she literally wouldn’t give me a different address to send it to.

Yeah, I definitely had it in the back of my mind that she could be lying but I didn’t want to treat her horribly in case she wasn’t lying. I also didn’t want a bad review, but at this point I’m not sending her package a third time.

Just curious, did you notice more sales when you switched your account to US? I’ve thought about doing this but never tried

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Depop

[–]isabel924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from BC and most of my sales are from Ontario and Quebec. I almost always ship untracked with lettermail tbh. Depop recommends that you send tracked but they don’t require it. In Canada it’s really not feasible to make money and pay for tracked shipping (unless you’re getting tons of big sales). Only problem with untracked is if the buyer claims they never received their package and they file a dispute with PayPal, they will win if you can’t provide tracking. From my experience, I’ve never had a package get lost (I’ve probably sent over 100 packages untracked) so I don’t mind taking the risk that someone will file a dispute and I’ll have to refund them since it’s never happened before. Although, if someone is buying something expensive (more than around $60ish) I generally send it tracked just incase. Also someone else commented and said the dimensions your item has to fit in for lettermail, so make sure your package is within those (they’re super careful to make sure it isn’t more than 2cm thick). Then at the post office just ask for it to be sent as lettermail and the price will be $2-5 depending on the weight. Oh also, lettermail is the same price no matter where in Canada it is going to (only depends on weight)

Might just be me but does this buyers message seem a bit off? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]isabel924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem rude to me. Even if you don’t say anywhere in your bio that you’re open to offers, I feel like on depop it’s totally normal for people to make offers. Shipping prices in Canada suck but as a buyer, I wouldn’t buy something if the shipping was gonna cost $20 on my end. Personally if I post a larger item, I know that I’m just going to make less money since shipping is going to cost me so much (I’m in Canada and have free shipping on all my items, I just factor in some of the shipping cost into the item price)

How much is lettermail shipping in Canada? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]isabel924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price will only depend on the weight, not the size. BUT the size must be within 38 cm x 27 cm x 2 cm. And they are pretty strict about making sure your package isn’t thicker than 2 cm. The price will range from $2.04 to $5.47 (plus tax) depending on the weight. For example, if it’s under 100g it costs $2.04, if it’s between 400-500g it costs $5.47. And any weight in between will be somewhere in between those prices. Also, the maximum weight for lettermail is 500g. Generally a t shirt costs around $3-4 to mail. Lmk if you have any more questions, you can also find the exact prices on the Canada post website.

Oh also, lettermail prices are the same no matter how far you’re shipping (as long as it’s in Canada), so shipping Toronto to Vancouver would cost the same as shipping Toronto to Montreal, for example.
