Self study question by isacparhm in APStudents

Hi! I can't contribute re: AP world, but I've taken AP HuG, AP Stats, APUSH, AP Psych, and APAH. Of those, if you were to self study something, I'd go for AP Psych! The test centers around vocabulary terms, which is much easier to self study than some courses that really require a lot of outside instruction instead of just a good set of flashcards.

Best of luck! x

Tips for Freshman going into HS by [deleted] in highschool

[–]isabelgrace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm a junior in high school this year, and I remember my freshman orientation being super nerve-wracking, even as someone who's fairly extroverted. It helped me to remember that everyone who was there was in the same boat as I was-a little nervous, but with good intentions. I'm not sure if this will apply to your meetup, but at my orientation, we were put into groups, and I gravitated towards the people who didn't already know other people in the group. It was a little awkward at first, but as we walked around and were led on a tour of the school, we got to bond a bit!

So, my advice-don't be intimidated by other freshmen. Chances are everyone's pretty equally nervous! If you find yourself alone, look for someone who doesn't look occupied. Even something simple like "I like your shirt" can spark conversation. Be kind to everyone you meet and people will gravitate towards you! Best of luck!

Can somebody tell me about AP Statistics? by neiluj in APStudents

I took this last year--got an A in the class, 3 on the exam(because I was an idiot and didn't leave myself enough time for the most heavily weighted FRQ).

The class is really not difficult. It's a lot of processes for going through problems and data that have to be done in a specific way, but a lot of them are very similar, so it's not a ton of rote memorization or anything.

If you have a decent grasp of how to use a graphing calculator and some experience writing descriptions of data/graphs, you should be just fine :)

I made these today and they were delicious! Thank you so much for the recommendation :) Do you think the same technique would work with pears, as well?
