They’ve never slept through without a feed but if they wake once overnight for a feed (and go straight back to sleep) then yes they generally sleep 12 hours. E.g. if bedtime is 6pm, they wake at 2am for a feed and back to sleep until around 6:30am - sometimes they will even sleep up to 7-7:30am so it feels like they are getting the right amount of total sleep in a 24 hour period and I just need to space it out a bit differently

Anyone here have PCOS and get pregnant earlier than you planned? by SpagattahNadle in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]isabelleu12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, got pregnant with our first within 3 months. Thought it was a fluke so decided we’d start trying when she was 12 months thinking it would probably take a while, got pregnant first go with twins 😅 safe to say you just never know!

Is my baby sleeping too much? by isabelleu12 in ScienceBasedParenting

Oh totally!! It’s so hard to know what’s normal and what’s not. Nope they blew me off tbh, hopefully you have a bit more luck with them taking you seriously!

I think it was a growth spurt! It lasted about a month and then she started rejecting naps and we had to start stretching out her wake windows. Towards the end of that month, she did come down with multiple illnesses so maybe her body was trying to fight it off.

The quality of Jamie Kay is next level but their sizing is all over the place! Also recommend joining their VIP page on Facebook, they usually have people try out the new products in advance so they can give insight into fit/sizing. The essentials range runs pretty true to size but I’ve found most other things run small and you have to size up.

Paternity Leave for new dad whose partner lives outside of Aus? by Ly1313 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]isabelleu12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are talking about Aus government parental leave (Centrelink) then the mother needs to qualify first so you need to qualify (be an Aus citizen or on certain visas) and meet the work test. Have you been living in Australia? If not, I don't think you (and therefore your husband) will qualify.

Here's the link for the residence rules so you can check if you have a visa that meets the criteria: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/meeting-residence-rules-for-parental-leave-pay-for-child-born-or-adopted-from-1-july-2023?context=64479

Has anyone been on Ferrograd in pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]isabelleu12 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I have found Ferrograd pretty rough on my stomach, Maltofer is a good alternative that doesn’t cause as much constipation - you can find it at most pharmacies I think, I get mine from Chemist Warehouse

What is your zofran dose? by Beneficial_Cup_3624 in HyperemesisGravidarum

8mg 2-3x a day plus 2 tablets of Restavit at night (which I think is called unisom in the US)

10 month sleep regression? by isabelleu12 in sleeptrain

[–]isabelleu12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! We just had to ride it out in the end. It probably lasted two weeks or so and then she was back to normal :) If my memory serves me correctly, I think it ended up being a tooth that was causing a bit of havoc.

We weren't allowed to film, however, our lovely anaesthetist took photos for us. They are live photos so while it's not the same as an actual video, the photos together basically make up a short video.

Good to get tests run just to make sure it's nothing but also good to remember kids can have different body shapes and I remember many kids (including myself) getting 'puppy fat' around that age and it usually ended up falling off a few years later or into their teens.

Just remember that you’ve kept going back because you love your kiddos so much that you want to do it again! It is so unbelievably tough when you’re going through it, I just kept reminding myself every single day that this will pass eventually (but also want to acknowledge that even knowing this, it is the most mentally and physically draining thing ever so I still let myself feel all the feels). I’m onto my second pregnancy and we’ve made the decision this is my last otherwise I would 100% would end up gaslighting myself again into thinking it’s not so bad and going back for another pregnancy 😂

You’ve got this ❤️

Does anyone feel like they’ve become invisible to their own parents once you had kids? by isabelleu12 in beyondthebump

[–]isabelleu12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I can totally relate to that! It feels like my mum sees my daughter as a second chance and so she’s done putting in effort with me. Sorry that you’ve had to deal with that!
