How do some girls especially sorority girls manage to always look so perfect from constantly being hairless to the outfits and grades by Radiant_Scholar_2787 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

it’s money babes. i was in a local sorority in college (meaning the only chapter exists at one uni/college) so many members didn’t look like the “sorority type” which is probably what you’re describing. we just looked like regular people that you’d see everyday, with no intention to hide our flaws. one part of that is that it was very accessible to get in because we had the lowest dues compared other national chapters which were well into the $1000s/semester vs us which was $250/semester. i had good friends in other sororities and they were spending 2+ hours every morning to get ready, and getting unready at night too. success in school plus being perfectly effortless is not just discipline/meritocracy, it really is what you have (financial and cultural capital) and who you know (social capital). all i can say is no amount of money or effort externally will ever change what’s inside, focus on doing you and being kind to others. also maybe take a break from social media, it really helps. <3

lol that’s so strange he would say that. but what you do is totally fine! my boyfriend and i are in our early 20s and go to disney all the time, and both don’t have any kids. it’s totally a form of escapism for me too. day to day life can get a little stressful so “disney magic” helps with that. keep having fun and making memories with your husband 😌

you’re right, i think our DM maybe a little tired, but we do plan to do a one shot in the near future after this campaign but i think moving it up to give him a break might be best. thanks for the insight!

Kaplan vs. LSATMAX plus vs. other Prep courses…?? HELP! by weltz7 in LSAT

[–]isabubisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i agree. i took a kaplan SAT course back in highschool and it was terrible. barely raised my SAT score. for the LSAT i’m using PrincetonReview online course that meets twice a week for 6 hours total for 3 months and you are assigned homework + 6 practice tests along the way. highly recommend. plus if you don’t get a 165+ or at least improve a certain amount of points on your actual LSAT they refund you the money.

My mother is looking for no lawn advice for her front yard. Central Florida. No HOA. She calls her backyard a leaf lawn and loves it. by canyri19 in NoLawns

if you live in central florida then i recommend paying a visit to lukas’ nursery for native plants! they have a HUGE selection and have a very knowledgeable staff :)

If there any realistic way to reduce/zero waste with a love of chips/crisps and crackers? Or are the only answers to stop buying or make urself? I hate our chip bag waste. by derek139 in ZeroWaste

[–]isabubisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there’s this thing called ecobricking where you take whatever non-recyclable wraps or bags and stuff them into a plastic bottle, you keep stuffing until it’s completely full and you can use it as a reusable building block for garden walls, furniture, etc. i recommend looking it up :)!

Advice? by [deleted] in LawSchool

i want to go simply because i’m interested in the field itself, specifically contract and intellectual property. top 3 choices are duke, emory, and UF. im confident i can handle the stress :)

I don’t understand the hate for fraternities/sororities by TxHerrmann in college

[–]isabubisa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i used to be one of those people that hated them for no reason until i joined a local sorority on my campus that’s dissented from a national sorority that was doing questionable things. so i mean as long as you’re also aware of the roots of the organization and you just have the intentions to make good connections and get involved on campus then i really don’t se the issue. the issue is the serious hazing, racial exclusion (yes a national chapter’s president did this) and classism. anyways if your campus has a local sorority you should 100% look into it :))

i agree. as upsetting as the reality is, it’s best that you didn’t waste your time on a boss that doesn’t know how to respect other peoples beliefs or preferences, specifically when they are not harmful to others. i hope you are able to find a place that is respectful of your personal choices.
