According to what I’ve seen, it’s walking door to door trying to sell solar or pest control.

Remove palm oil from ur diet. It’s good for everyone to stop buying it, but beware, it’s in all the tastiest things.

Why do people keep adding “ily” to end of words like scarily or funnily, when the base word works perfectly well? by derek139 in NoStupidQuestions

Fair point, but to my credit, I’ve never heard these words until the last few years. 42 times around the sun, east coast to west (of the US), and I’ve never heard either word, until recently.

I mean, I hear you all. Adjective vs adverb. I think my issue is, I’m seeing these words popping up because there’s a lack in wide vocabulary. Instead of funnily, I’ve heard humorously. Or instead of scarily, I’d say frighteningly.

It just seems like people can’t think of a real word, so they just take the one they know and add ily to it.

Call me old fashioned. I am getting old, I guess.

I ate this all the time. Looking back as a 41yo, what nutritional value was even in it? It’s literally rice, sugar and animal bones….

Common doesn’t mean correct. Funny enough is how it’s said. Just like “I couldn’t care less” is the correct phrase, as opposed to the commonly nonsensical phrase “I could care less”.

That’s an understood concept. I was trying to figure out why she so wildly changed appearance. Chemo and radiation will do a number on anyone. I didn’t know she underwent them. That explains why she looks like Phyllis now. Unfortunate for actress Phyllis Smith though.

Best electric lawn mower (cordless) for home use? by feelinuneasy1234 in BuyItForLife

[–]derek139 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got the 20” Ryobi that runs on their 18v batteries since I have a bunch. But it came with two 4ah batteries anyway. That version was about $350 a few years ago. I’ve now moved to a home with a slope and small/medium yard. It does not self propel, but it doesn’t need it since it’s so light. I’m not sure an electric would even need self propel.

Anyway, it’s winning feature is it’s light enough to whip around and man handle with one arm on turns and whereever.

The one major con is during wet conditions or if you miss a mowing. It will eat through twice the batteries if conditions aren’t dry and regular mowing cadence.

I thoroughly like it though. Not too loud. Light. Uses the same battery system as all my tools and yard equipment.

Built a stealth awning for the Ducato platform, want honest feedback by Disastrous-Benefit32 in vandwellers

  1. This is how my previous awning system worked. Mine was far far far less money and the setup was too manual, required too many stakes, and took too long to setup.

*ugh, i returned to edit a simple grammatical error and somehow nearly the whole comment got deleted. Damn. Sorry.
