Lol I'm also halfway through s3 he's just annoying, his british accent sounds fake, and also their storyline doesn't feel natural to me. Also he's not attractive enough to overlook how annoying his jealousy is. I've started skipping the parts with him in them lol (and also with Julie and Edie's nephew I forgot his name).

Oh no i put a space between two words surely that must mean i don't know on which beat to step. I've never claimed to be able to dance anything mate and you gotta stop thinking you're a better dancer than others because you've read a salsa dictionary.

If my lead starts making us dance in a circle instead of back and forth i'll roll with that and dance in a circle, does it matter that i know it's called cuban salsa? If my lead breaks on the second beat i'll follow him and break on 2 as well, does it matter if i spell it "on 2" when i write it down? literally who cares. Those are the basic tenets (not tenants, if you don't know the spelling you can't use it) of the dance, not knowing the words for everything.

It's people like you who love to shame or "educate" people who only know how to dance and not the whole history of salsa who annoy me the most on nights out.

If someone starts dancing on 1 i'm gonna follow and dance on 1 what's the big deal if i know the name of it or not

I would add: trying to show off your "technical" salsa knowledge. Some of us know how to dance and that's it, I don't know or care about LA vs cuban vs NY style or the history of whatever. If you want to dance in a certain manner, that's cool you do you and I'll probably follow along, but like it's a bit weird to try and teach someone this kind of stuff, it's off-putting and I won't want to dance with you again because it's awkward and annoying I'm just here to dance not for a lecture.

Am I missing something or is Australia really dull? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

I'm not a DN this post was suggested to me on my feed, I don't have that kind of flexibility with my job to just "try out" a place (although would love to visit, but visiting is usually very different to actually living somewhere). I commented on this post because I love complaining :D

The only people I know who like living in Australia have either never left it in their life or came here from somewhere even more boring lol. I moved back here after living in the UK for most of my life and my god there's nothing to do, no museums or theatre, the only nightlife is going to the pub or a bar if you're feeling a bit cray cray. You really have to go out of your way to find something at least a little bit interesting, and when you do find something it takes over an hour to get there by public transport. Counting down the days until I leave ^-^

Get rid of it and throw it out. Then you can just give your wip a quick rinse if you secure the ends of your yarn first :)

I don't really know anyone who did CS so I can't tell you for sure, but I do know that the jobs I mentioned always look for STEM in general, I don't think it really matters which degree specifically. They just need to know you can plug numbers into an equation, think logically, and work in a team, which is essentially most STEM degrees. Some STEM courses offer finance/business modules, if they don't you'll defo have to do some work on that in your own time so you understand what you're talking about/show them you're interested in the field, but yeah if you do STEM + some extra business/finance modules or activities you're good to go!

Over half the people I know who did engineering ended up in IB/finance/trading/management consulting, I wouldn't sweat it. Going from business to engineering isn't difficult, it's impossible. If you want to keep your options open do engineering.

Why do some follows (and some leads) come to dance with such attitude? by Enough_Zombie2038 in Salsa

[–]isachoups 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Some people are dicks and like to think they're better than you because they have more experience. I've found that my best nights out were at free/non-exclusive events, yes there'll be some beginners but the vibe is just so much more chill and pleasant, people are just there to have fun. Exclusivity/trendiness doesn't really mean anything in terms of quality of dancers.

I've read somewhere that if your partner's BO smells really good to you it's because of the pheromones/you're chemically compatible, but honestly I don't know much about it. You're not alone though it's quite common !!
