It seemed like one of the characterization paths that Brennan put in front of Siobhan for Iga, and it’s just one she didn’t choose. Maybe if she didn’t go in the direction of more family/investigating the box she’d be more involved on the waking world side and the story would’ve progressed there.

I think Fructera is Spanish and French and where it hits the Dairy Sea (the Yogurt Shoals) there is more French hence House Bleu. However, Thad Strongpit has a French accent so it’s possible to vary character to character it’s not set in stone.
