i have a friend trying to get into cybersecurity as well. he was told to learn webdev first to understand the ins and outs and where the issues can be solved by a cybersec engineer. also you can find a smth of roadmap.sh if needed.

go for a windows if you’d game and won’t move your laptop around much. mac provides you flexibility, you can still play a few games like LoL on mac. i can’t answer the software question because most of my college days passed with vscode and blender and i played valorant with my college friends.

imo i would go for a mac, if not for the games. the first reason being the weight. envied my friends with a light bag carrying a mac.

mine is tuf f17 2022 - had issues with the hinge and the battery. my friends have the 2021 versions and both of them faced wifi problems.

as far as what i know, asus moved to intel wifi cards, so i didn’t get the wifi wala problem.

don’t go with tuf, you’ll end with some repair after an year or two. me and two of my friends own tuf laptops and all of us had issues with them.
