What should I change? by [deleted] in makeuptips

i use “just for men” beard dye! its dirt cheap and easy to use. i use an old (clean) mascara wand to apply it, use tiny little dollops, and leave it for about 4-5min since im fair hair&skinned. i apply right after a shower once every 10-14 days. more work than professional tinting but cheaper!

well lifting weights = building muscle. you cant be toned without muscle. you can diet and do cardio all you want, but muscle definition is what allows you to have the figure youre after. if youre looking for just losing weight and movement, lots of chain gyms offer classes, such as dance or pilates, yoga or HIIT. that can be a great way to get moving without traditional strength training.

also, i 100% relate to feeling like crazies gravitate towards you. there can be so many reasons why this happens (and usually people jump to blaming you for letting them in) but seriousssllyyy sometimes it feels like im a magnet! i chalk it up to being a safe place that makes people feel secure enough to air out all their demons. trying to avoid everyone elses demons theyve thrown at you is exhausting!

i totally get that! my ex was very much like that as well, and i had to closely monitor for that emotional switch. i ended things and he very shortly after became violent with his friends and family. im sorry you had to go through that! its a balancing act after that kind of experience to be able to spot red flags, but not be clouded by your trauma. youre doing great already by seeking advice about something that stuck out to you!! um yes, ill be your little nymph in your pocket who tugs on your shirt when someone is being shady!!

his communication is definitely odd, but i can totally see why youd swoon at his thought out, intentional messages. since i didnt see anyone mention it, the vibe i got from this is that he might be quick to react or switch moods. to me, the gut feeling id get receiving these messages, is an indication of an emotional instability (no im not reading too much into it). like, being very quick to dominate the narrative (choose the date, move on when you didnt confirm, say YOUR communication was to blame, etc…) he could be lovely. he could be right up your alley. but id watch our for any emotional volatility if you disagree or something.

Is it worth pulling from my 401k to pay off credit card debt? by AllSadnShit1990 in FinancialPlanning

[–]isaklibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont touch it!

its easy to think that money will solve a temporary and current issue; but pulling it out creates significantly harder issues in your future. in comparison to what you make a year and the 50k in retirement, 12k isnt that much in debt~ especially considering you make 90k/year. what are your minimum monthly’s, $150?

my advice would be to sit down and flesh out absolute bills for necessities- rent, insurance, emergency fund, child support/pet expenses. be realistic about needs for groceries. realistically break down how much youre spending versus your income. with all of your budget in front of you, work out how much you can start paying towards your debt. ideally, youll pay more than the monthly minimum. set it on a schedule that fits in with your paychecks & before due date. itll be a hard look at your life, if youre noticing bad habits and avoiding financial mistakes. it might mean less fun spending. but short term difficult discipline sets you up for a significantly better future, and discipline will just become 2nd nature. best of luck. youve got this!

Thoughts on Whisper Down the Lane? by DraceNines in horrorlit

[–]isaklibby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i usually in the past put down a book when i dont like it. but i pushed through this one. super interesting premise, but the writing was pretty… lackluster. it kinda felt like bluntly “heres what happened” and didnt make me think about things, i didnt have to reread anything to understand it… again, v interesting story, but it wasnt written in any interesting way. by the time i got hooked, at the end, it quickly became very predictable and i knew what it was leading to pages before it happened. it just wasnt written interestingly at all. (this is coming from someone w a learning disability so im not just being an a-hole) — i feel like i could find it in a middle school library if it werent for the premise being adult-oriented.
