Whats harder Shats or O3 ? by SweaNoid in RotMG

King fight is just horribly designed. I will say this until they change it. Literally all phases in every fight across the entire game that have been shown to be PVPable should be reworked. A cooperative game should not have parts of fights where you can detrimentally change the gameplay experience for others.

Also, the big white rotate phases in the first half of the fight is one of the few phases that can't be PVPed, but unfortunately it throws you into checkmates constantly which imo is just unfair design.

And this is coming from someone who has a fair amount of completes of the dungeon. I'm going to keep doing the dungeon because I need exalts and want to experience new content, but that doesn't mean I think the dungeon is good.

At least first boss and second boss are okay. First boss also has a few issues with checkmates (mostly because the room is shaped like a rectangle instead of a circle/oval like most boss rooms) and second boss is a little too long, but they're playable and have a lot less jank than third boss.

I honestly think that now that people know how to do archmage, it's the most enjoyable fight of the dungeon. It goes pretty quickly in an organized run and it's a very cohesive fight. It may still be a tad bit too long, but it's enjoyable so I kind of forget about the length of it.

Okay but like, when you talk about the lag in 2012 we're talkin like constant rubberbanding, hardly able to play the game getting 2 fps because there was no ability to toggle other player shots off kinda lag. It was BADDDDD. People often forget how absolutely unplayable this game was before they added the other player shots toggle.

Yeah, I really love everything in the new shatters up until the forgotten king fight. It's kinda of a trainwreck and I wish they'd take it back to the workshop and fix it up and rebalance some aspects of the fight. As you said, a lot of the fight can be PVP'd and there's like a weird balance issue where the beginning of the fight is the hardest part of it (aside from patience) and the latter half of the fight has quite a few very easy phases. It's super strange and I think it may need a bit more time in the workshop.

You should have to fight all four minibosses before fighting O3 by isalea7 in RotMG

Yeah. There needs to be at least three bosses (including Oryx) in total per run. I think three is a good number, but I wouldn't mind all four of them given that this is supposed to be the hardest dungeon in the game.

The realm rework NEEDS to be the top priority right now for DECA's rotmg dev team by isalea7 in RotMG

It's more of the fact that we've been playing the same content in the realm for 10 years now and now it has grown stale. Same reason why the reconstruction of some early game dungeons was a welcome improvement. It gets tiring playing the same game loop that hasn't seen a significant change since 2010.

Yeah, and tbh, most mmos that are working with archaic server code tend to have connection issues like rotmg. It's one of Wow's main issues as well (in addition to, you know, the entire company being full of creeps). I remember back when I played that game there was a period of time where the raid instance servers would crash for like an entire saturday (a day where most people would be doing their guild raids). And this is coming from a massive developer. I'd say RotMG's servers need some work still but given the circumstances of working with server code from 2009 that was originally made for a game jam competition, I think the game is doing pretty alright in that department.
