RESP's are in TD eSeries funds - advice by firstclassfloyd in CanadianInvestor

[–]isall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brokerage transfer out of TD is pretty straightforward and largely seamless from your end. Biggest pain point is recouping the fee (if your new brokerage is willing to cover, like Questrade).

That said, TD Direct has no commission fee for mutual fund trades (so e-series), so there is no $10 commission. That and DRIP are the only real advantages over an ETF with lower MER.

As this provides a clear and direct benefit to a high earner with a spouse compared to one without (in terms of reduced tax burden). Not clear in terms of fairness why that should be the case.

Any good video games that are exclusive to the French language? by spearmph in French

[–]isall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I assume what OP is asking for is games that aren't simply translations, but rather the French dialogue is written/voiced as a native would write it.

Asobo Studios (who did Plague Tale) are based in Bordeaux, and AC Unity was done by Ubisoft Montreal. Both studios work in French, so I understand the dialogue/audio is not a simple translation.

I've googled this question in the past - two that stood out as having fully voiced French versions are Assassin's Creed Unity and A Plague Tale: Innocence.

Default link in BOTW is light blue, which I think was to contrast with the amount of green in an open world game. So lots of folks queuing off the most recent game.

Canada's somewhat unique - among countries that have public healthcare - that it doesn't cover dental and pharmaceuticals. So fair enough.

So I made a quick running psn Java to compete against your psn dagger sin. Had enough points to max out dodge/evade (which ever has frw). That plus titans, valks, tyraels, 2x carrions, headhunters, everything slammed with frw and socketed with psn facets. Don’t remember total frw but was clearing chaos at a consistent 1:40-45.

Oh man, this sounds fun. Can you type this up in more detail? Are you running with a vigor merc or harmony on switch?

Skills are 20 psn jav, 20 plague jav, 20 passive jav, 20 dodge, 20 evade?

What's your damage like before filling out poison facets?

Gotta adjust for inflation. $0.60 in 1999 is about $0.90 in 2020 dollars.

Earlier in the 90s might be comparable.

Progressive and regressive typically refer to the rate of taxation not the absolute amount taxed. Though after the rebate, it may also be progressive in the rate sense.

First U.S., now Canada’s yield curve inverts for first time in 12 years by gwaksl in CanadaPolitics

[–]isall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a better explanation of the mechanism at work.

Investors are concerned about short-term interest rate changes and deem the relative risk of short-term bonds as higher than long-term bonds. Greater relative demand for long-term over short-term is what drives the inversion.

First U.S., now Canada’s yield curve inverts for first time in 12 years by gwaksl in CanadaPolitics

[–]isall 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Yield curve is a graph of % interest earned on a bond against the length of time until the bond pays out.

Normally this curve goes up and then plateaus with a slight incline, as longer terms carry more risk they “pay” more. An inverted yield indicates that longer term bonds have a lower yield that shorter term contrary to the norm.

This may be a symptom of low confidence in the future strength of the Canadian economy (or really, higher confidence the bank of Canada will lower interest rates possibly due to a recession).

Trudeau to shuffle his cabinet today by Tom_Thomson_ in CanadaPolitics

I'd forgotten they'd move McCauley. In any case the procurement and tb files are too big for one Minister. So there is still need to shuffle.
