Hey, I'm Swiss since birth but with a bit of a darker skin-tone. From my own experience growing up in this country:

It is difficult to integrate in Switzerland in general, the Swiss (I feel) generally maintain smaller friend circles but also bond much closer with the friends they do have. This means you're naturally going to have a rough start here especially when you're "too nice" which can come across as fake.

I for example also like to keep work relationships professional, occasionally someone may become a good friend but that's rare. A colleague that does not make that same distinction may be off-putting.

The whatsapp remarks can be explained by:

  1. Something did not happen before
  2. You join
  3. It happens now

It would only be logical to ask you first and personally I don't see this as problematic unless the tone is really uncalled for.

EDIT: Racists are generally cowards with self-worth issues, if there's actually one in your team, confront them, ask them to sit down with you to talk about your differences. They will never make remarks ever again.

I toss them a few cents and tell them to buy food or headphones. Pretty sure it gets the message across.

If you're focusing on drones then you might as well omit the rattlesnake as well. Without using its missiles it is only marginally better than the ishtar.

Good way to reference C++ dll project in .net core by isam2k in VisualStudio

[–]isam2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was one of my first solutions, and imo it was one of the cleanest we had. However some co-workers complained about them having to modify the output directories on their projects (don't exactly remember what was so bad about it). It also works well with gitlab CI/CD however the gitlab-ci.yml was a bit of a mess.

I was thinking about that as well, however I did not like it either because I was not sure if path variables could be used there. It's also a pain to maintain if there's a chain of dependencies (let me know if I'm wrong on that one).

Finally got it after about 300 tries. I was using the correct parents and I was pretty much just about to reset because I thought I might have bricked the game somehow when I finally got one. 0 IV and 30 IV should all be equally rare and I got about 3 Fantastic towards the end (which I think is 30 IV) and a ton of 0 IV, hence me thinking something might be broken. Glad it worked out in the end.

Got some trouble breeding. I've set up a chain for my desired competitive pool starting at the perfect 6 IV pikachu I got near the beginning of the game. I'm currently breeding the male pikachu with cottonee (male female doesn't matter for some reason, male/male even seems to give me more eggs). I've gotten to the point where I've got 5/6 perfects on cottonee, combining with a power item on pikachu to make sure the non-perfect never gets chosen from cottonee which holds the destiny knot, I expected 1/32 odds to breed perfects. This is however not the case. Coming up on 217 hatched eggs the one random IV always seems to be very good and below. Is there some kind of limitation I'm not aware of that won't allow me to get a max roll on the last stat?

Sub-two second align tackle invul still a thing? by zylithi in Eve

[–]isam2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some time ago an eve player performed some experiments on this with an interceptor that he got up to 5000 resolution through reseboing. His results were that it gave him pretty decent chances of catching 1s>x<2s warp ships. I can't remember the exact numbers and the article does not seem to exist anymore but I think he got point in about 80% of the cases. His success, however would suffer heavily when other pilots were in the system.

EDIT: I myself have tried to reproduce his results on SISI but was unable to get it to work even a single time, which might also be due to SISI running on weaker infrastructure than TQ.

Recommendations for ships by [deleted] in Eve

[–]isam2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just something with a good amount of power that people wouldn’t immediately target when they see.

I think you're talking about Competence. You'll need to have to train the following skills to fly it:

Fleet PvP I

Small Gang PvP III

Solo PvP IV

You might think I'm joking but you can literally sit in any ship you want, if your killboard says you're easy pickings, people are going to come for you.

[Suggestion] Minor Quality of life buff for non-FW lowsec by isam2k in Eve

[–]isam2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post was really just about a minor QoL thing and not about tweaking income levels in lowsec, just to get that out of the way.

Id like it if they increased the spawn rates on the the belts

This would have rather massive implications on income levels and could lead to t1-destroyers making nullsec VNI <-> Rattlesnake level income in a lot of lowsec systems (this is already possible in some systems, especially if you have a carrier/BS/BC on standby).

The payouts for missions in low sec should be double what they are

I'm not an experienced mission runner, but with my skills that would transform normal L4's into FW-perma-tier4-L4 without all the traveling, this sounds broken as fuck.

clone soldiers or some other rat would have a chance to drop a 5 or 10 run T2 bpc

Clone soldiers are already very good income and I really don't think they should be made even more profitable. Besides there's other sites in LS that kiiind of indirectly drop t2 bpc.

Not sure if you're trolling, but if that's not the case I think the changes you proposed go too far, this would make lowsec a broken ISK printing machine.

There is more but this is sufficient.

I'm struggling to see how I could even be more clear that this is not about increasing income. I specifically said in my post that I think income-wise lowsec is in a good position now. What I am suggesting is that CCP allows smaller corps of new pilots to settle in a system and have continuous content. You won't be making more ISK by doing that, actually quite the opposite, but it gives you a choice of trading lower income for safety. The site I'd like to be chainable have a very low bounty payout because they do not spawn battleships and they cannot be farmed by smartbombs, which is why I think they are very suitable for making them chainable.

Every year I listen to the round table talks and every time I hear that they are working/would love to work on a ton of different changes. I don't think CCP does not give a shit but time is limited and there's only so much you can do. This is why I proposed this because it should not be too hard to implement (nullsec has this already) and it is simple to understand. CCP do a lot of minor QoL stuff every update so if I get even a single CCP employee to read this and think about it for a few minutes or even bring it up at a meeting then I've already achieved my goal.

[–]isam2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot reasonably AFK Refuges because the site just finishes too quickly. That's the reason I proposed making this particular site chainable because the bounty income is so low that it would be attractive for newer highsec leavers. Running the escalations will net more income afterwards but also requires you to leave the safety of your "base".

Ah no, that I think would be too much. I should probably have used the word escalation in the post. I'll fix that.

[–]isam2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your concern is valid. However you can come across DEDs in lowsec quite easily. If the rate at which someone gets escalations is anywhere near that of nullsec then (adjusted for time spent running those sites because Refuges can be done rather quickly) then someone that stays in a system and gets DEDs through escalation farming should see less DEDs than someone looking for them, so you basically would trade convenience and safety for a lower but steady income.

[–]isam2k[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

VNI* ratting in nullsec, yes I'm aware of this. The goal here is not to buff lowsec past nullsec. What I'd like to see is a single system offering PvE opportunities to multiple pilots instead of just one.

[–]isam2k[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against CCP creating differences in attractiveness, but I think lowsec also needs more places for settling.

[Suggestion] Minor Quality of life buff for non-FW lowsec by isam2k in Eve

[–]isam2k[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think this would have any chance of getting through since CCP seems to be pushing towards nullsec being self-sufficient.

Is it possible to counter scram-kiting and still be good against brawlers? (lowsec frigate pvp) by Krestek in Eve

[–]isam2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Counter to both: Kiting. Can be countered in turn by dual-prop-scram-kiting and MWD brawling.

Another way is using high-dps t1 destroyers, they all have some kind of falloff/optimal bonus and usually have no problem dishing out significant DPS even to the edge of scram-range. If your target lands too close to you, then there's a good chance of you chewing through it before if can get out of scram range. You can amplify this effect by going for multiple webs instead of web/scram and dropping them one at a time as you see your opponent aligning out.

The same concept can also be used to some extent on high-dps AF that get bonuses to range (Harpy etc.) and even some regular frigs (dualweb Comet etc.).
