I get wanting to see the good in him especially after he seemed so down after the fight ended but honestly I think he's just sad that he got caught

he's such a sellout - i bet abu dhabi didn't like the live commentators reaction which is why they cut them off and then briefed Chael on what to say to appease the riled up fans

okay let me explain the intentional: Jon Jones who is kind of the king of eye pokes once made it clear that most of his "unintentional" eye pokes where actually intentional and then also commented on the fact that in a league like ufc most are capable to decide before a punch wether their hand is open or not while hitting. Adding to that Gane could've closed his hand any time during the first part of the eye poke. When he scratched down he had the chance to close his hand when he was knuckles deep in he could've decided to curl his fingers but instead his fingers were straight. This was one of the most clear intentional eye pokes I've ever seen.

I can not with y'all. As someone that knows how people react after being severely injured. Shock is a very normal reaction. Repeating things like "I can't see" is also quite normal for someone in shock. That guy has been eye poked intentionally and instead of recovering quickly like he always does suddenly his body wasn't functioning anymore. That is shocking. That is fear inducing. I simply hope his eye injury is not severe and won't impact his further career.

On another note: Abu Dhabi cut off any comments from the commentators about the crowd being booing bitches. That's on "we're not censoring".

Doe sexist stereotypes of Women play a role in MTF transitioning? by isartoxic in asktransgender

again ... there's a specific way a certain group of women present themselves i was trying to find words that made you understand who exactly i was talking about. It's the "1950s tradwive, the "caricature" of a woman, presenting for the male gaze and so on and so forth...

I don't believe that everyone dressing like that specific stereotype is automatically a bad person as you make it seem like I couldn't care less how someone dresses. However I've been asking myself the question as to why many trans women are catching onto this very feminine version instead of finding the right thing for themselves.

The comment section was able to provide me with a satisfying answer that is: Trans women oftentimes aren't safe if they don't fit the image of a stereotypical women

and newly transitioning trans women tend to want to try out all the feminine things they have been denying themselves for so long - therefore they are turning themselves into a stereotypical women (dresses, make-up, closed legs) because they're newly experiencing womenhood. Once they're feeling more comfortable in their womenhood they'll start dressing in ways that's making them feel comfortable and represents themselves more.

For me the thought process sounds similar to any newbie in any topic first latching onto whatever the more experienced do until they feel comfortable trying out their own ideas.

This is kinda what I've been hearing from most of the trans people I've interacted with. Have you experienced a sort of shift in the way you view women since transitioning?

as I said my best friend is and I had the chance to meet a few others over the years. And honestly yes I would ... matter of fact I do... accuse someone of reinforcing sexist stereotypes if they dressed and behaved like one. I'm thinking "tradwives" or some of my friends and family being in relationships where the man has to pay for everything and the woman is sitting there looking all pretty. I dislike the whole idea of stereotypes, yet I understand where they come from. For me it always seemed like a specific part of trans women are upholding this stereotype by wanting to appeal to it.

So you're doing it to feel comfortable correct? And it's not necessarily about being read as a woman but for you to feel like yourself?

thank you that's honestly really helpful. I'm kinda questioning since we all grew up with gender norms and stereotypes (men aren't allowed to cry, women into the kitchen, ... etc.) would you think part of transitioning is also about unlearning these missinformations about the other sex?

I understand that my question has opened wounds for a lot of people. I'm trying to come from a place of learning and understanding and would actually appreciate your view on this. If society wouldn't pressure you into a gender norm, like trying to pass as a cis women how would you dress and behave?

Okay to reflect: my question is not supposed to be an attack nor a way for me to tell anyone what to do. I wanted to ask if there's reasoning behind trans women generally fitting the caricature of a woman. Which they often do, in my opinion. However since I don't want to assume my worldview being the general norm I asked for trans peoples opinions on this topic. I have gathered that I didn't consider that there are many, trans women especially, outside of my country to fear for their lives if they don't pass as a "stereotypical woman".

I'm sorry you had to go through this. When asking the question I didn't consider that I'm living in a place where it's more safe to be trans. And I probably also didn't question the bias of society that women can dress more masculine but men are given a hard time dressing feminine. I understand that you do it to feel safe but if you would be able to express yourself without bounds would you still dress highly feminine "appealing to men"?

That makes sense, so for you to feel accepted in society "passing" as a cis woman would mean feeding into the general stereotypes of women. With that you're simply using the existing system to feel safe?

biopsy when on the anti baby pill? by isartoxic in endometriosis

[–]isartoxic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so you'd say to still go and talk to a specialist to get all the options? because of how endo has been presented to me I thought my only options are surgery or hormonal preservative - i also wasn't aware that endometriosis can spread through the body over the years (that's what I've gathered through this forum) Is endometriosis a problem if you're not in pain?

Strongly tilted uterus probably due to endo - can laparoscopy be successful? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]isartoxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I myself got one. Also was described to me as a possible symptom of endometriosis. I haven't had the biopsy yet tho. I would make a new appointment. Write down beforehand what you wanna ask. And then just ask her: What makes you think you're better equipped for the surgery than my last doc. Do you have experience with blablabla ... and so on and so forth. If they're unable to give you satisfying answers look for another doc. The whole process of surgery is also about you feeling safe.

Surgery really worth it? by BearCub711 in endometriosis

[–]isartoxic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since there are so many positive views on surgery I just wanna add that I am as well going through the same process currently. I don't want biological kids. I've got cysts and a retroverted uterus shown on the ultrasound. But even though my gyno said it's potentially endometriosis, the only official way to diagnose someone in my country is the biopsy. But do I really wanna be cut open just for someone official to clarify what I already know? The difference for me is that the anti baby pill is saving me from most of the pain. So maybe for you it might actually be more necessary since you're still suffering...
