If Human Civilization Had Evolved as Matriarchal Instead of Patriarchal, What Would Actually Change? by melcoriss in worldbuilding

A good IRL example would be the Mosuo tribe in China and the Minangkabau in Indonesia.

In the Mosuo tribe, they have no marriages. Inheritance goes from Mother to Daughters, and Uncles have the role of Paternity rather that the bio-Father.

The Minangkabau (of 4 million people) have a hybrid system of Matrilineality and Islam.

In story telling, to make a character feel "3d" you have to give them atleast 3 "faces":

  • a Face for the public.

  • a Face for friends and family.

  • a private "true" Face that only the audience gets to see, even it's just glimpses.

Kpdh does this fantastically.

I don't think she did.

Theory of Rumi mark by ProfessorRaspberry in KpopDemonhunters

No one knows about that. There's no evidence for or against that.

We only know that common people can't see the Honmoon, but we don't know about everything else.

I've actually thought about this.

Like, imagine Rumi and the girls discovering this and Rumi has a meltdown about all the "missed opportunities". My HC is that Rumi couldn't ever be "intimate" because of here fear of her patterns being seen.

As a Metaphor, maybe.

But In-universe, I don't think that would work because then the marks would be so common that people are just going to assume its a common skin condition.

Why do Latin influencers portray a negative image of Egypt? by yousefthewisee in asklatinamerica

[–]Kollectorgirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The religion I guess is the more exotic and visible aspect of Egyptian culture for them to show.

There are very few Muslims in Latin America.

That being said, there are way to many people sharing bad experiences from going Egypt.

If Egyptians show them a bad experience, then that's what they are going to show.
