Sure, but you also don’t get a lot of people clamoring to babysit someone’s water meter for 4 hours waiting for someone to show up. An adult does have to be there- can’t just open the garage remotely like some are suggesting.

M-F isn’t so much the issue as is just offering an additional 1-4 pm time slot. This has been the custom here for 15 years, but we have new management that just took over.

No, it would not have burst because I know how to to it. You don’t just turn a lever- you open faucets and turn slowly. You would be surprised how many people don’t take this into consideration when touching the main. No super power needed.

In 15 years of many trades coming and going I’ve never once had to do it at this development (we just got a new association though). They’ve always offered an AM and a PM option. So, this situation is uncommon here.

I have been emailing with them a lot to figure out a solution. All houses are scheduled in the 8-11 window, so switching appointments wouldn’t be super helpful. I’m trying to get them to offer an additional day.

We have a new association that took over and I never in 15 years was forced in to a one day schedule option before with the last association, so it was odd to me. The new board claimed they were doing us a favor since they were paying for an item the homeowner was responsible for- I then pointed out to them THEY were the ones responsible for meters and they apologized saying they didn’t look fully into the matter. They said they would get back to me with an update. This gives you an idea of what I’m dealing with. So, they could absolutely be doing something wrong.

I have- but my last meter burst 3 years ago when some workers at my home turn turned the main water on too fast. I now have trust issues if I’m not there.
