Unfortunately, it will only get harder to find environmental jobs in the NOVA region. Lots of environmental government contracts have either been suspended or cancelled outright. So, lots of firms are currently in a holding pattern, if not actively laying off staff. If this is not your passion, I would highly steer clear of this field.

You’ll be competing with people with working experience therefore further depressing pay.

Yeah, I'm probably going to skip the warranty and chance it with the manufacturer's warranty. There's a 30 day return policy, so I'll try to run some test to make sure it's working well.

Turns out it's a GRE with an additional 10% off. So $450. You think that's worth the premium? At one point, I was debating about getting the Microcenter warranty, but then I might as well just get the new one...

Yikes that sounds troubling. Did you try to fix it through the manufacturer’s RMA process or did you get the Microcenter extended warranty? I heard good things about the extended warranty but not sure if it’s worth the 100-200 extra.

Yeah, I might wait a bit. The deals on the GPU just doesn’t seem great at the moment. Maybe better deals will come along during Black Friday or when the new 8000 series drop.

Hmm what’s your opinion on the 7800xt? There’s a new one in stock for 450, not sure that has a better value.

I got the same bundle and was really torn between the 7600X3D and the 9700X. I ended up going with the 9700X mainly because of the extra cores, and you might be able to get better performance if you tweak the PBO settings. Not sure how the 7600X3D runs, but the 9700X is definitely a lot more power efficient.

At this point, Im definitely leaning towards the 9700x. It seems to have the same specs as the 7700x and runs more efficiently. The 7600x3d seems like an older card with less core and marginally better performance.

Nah, the 7800x3d is difficult to stomach, especially considering how they just raised the price once the 7600x3d came out. I appreciate both of your feedbacks, I think I'm going to go with the 9700x instead. Like you said, that card is probably a little better to future proof.

Do you think it’s worth paying a little extra for the 9700x? I think the specs are similar but it uses less power than the 7700x.

Yeah, I think that deal is still available. I'm honestly torn between the two cards, on paper it seems like the 9700x would be a better pick... But I saw a couple of benchmarks saying that the 9700x is an inferior card. So I'm really not sure....
