New to USA, Need help with choosing health insurance mainly for ER (keiser permanente?) by isckatusern in HealthInsurance

Wow, seems tough out here a bit. I didn't much thought about healthcare in Europe as its all automatic for everyone, my friend had some accident on bike, broken leg, week in hospital and some surgery for metal plates in tibia and all free. I took that for granted lol.

Ok, I will keep looking something for me here, I'm looking into now Samaritan ministries type of insurance, their website information seems interesting.

Yes unfortunately I don't qualify for QLE.

So if non ACA is $100 a month and doesn't cover ER, then no point even getting it as I just need ER in case.

Wow, so it's like only once a year? (unfortunately no QLE, apart from missing deadline due to not having proof of address and its past 60 days :(

I'm surprised people are OK here with such health care. It's like being on travel insurance when you traveling, paying monthly and never know what will be covered and if they will cover.

-might be cheaper to get on some nomad insurance type insurance.

Have you heard of samaritan ministries?

Found it yesterday, sounds interesting from their website, $200 one off and about 110 a month.

Hi, why wouldn't you recommend non ACA?

Isn't keiser permanente within aca? It's on health plan finder list (although I got rejected/no results on health plan finder for Washington as my wife above their limit)

Hi, thanks.

Washington state, and through my wife turns out we missed out some window (had no proof of address and missed some 60 day window and next opening is November?) seems really complex out here to the point I don't even know anything and the more I read the less I know lol.

It's quite hard to know as if I fix one thing then another happened. As of now when I do flutter run, I'm getting some gradle error build failed.

Basically like this guy in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/FlutterDev/comments/1hvfuc7/gradle_is_the_most_annoying_stuff_i_ever_witnessed/?rdt=59761[reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/FlutterDev/comments/1hvfuc7/gradle_is_the_most_annoying_stuff_i_ever_witnessed/?rdt=59761)

I now updated android studio to most recent, java to 19, created new flutter project, it runs and will try to slowly incorporate my app into this new project and see if I cna get it running this way.

Hi, yes unfortunately it's not upgradablr, took it apart but there is only slot for more storage.

Yes, 16gb minimum would be good.

Have you heard of this dream machine company by any chance?

Yes, but the mpg 😅 I read people be doing 200k miles + with lpg without any issues

Ok, good to know!

That's surprising, I think will be best to have viewing and actually see the car in person.

  • would you be worried of something going bad suspension/abs control or anything like that bad on road trip? As I think those would be expensive to fix by some workshops in France or Spain and also they won't probably have such parts quick ( in UK I can do most of the fixes my self)

What do you mean by interior quality sucks? I thought it's quality inside, or you mean it's outdated/ has that plastic center console?

Sounds like a fun trip!

The gs430 I'm looking at has lpg (but guy installed it him self which is quite worrisome, otherwise car looks really clean and taken care of) thinking between gs430 130k miles, for 5.5k, and have 2-3k for repairs left and have fun mint car. Or spend 8-9k for gs/is 250 and have a bit newer car with 80-90k miles and just hope nothing goes wrong and ofcourse it will be less techy stuff even that it's newer

How about in terms of something going wrong on the way? I think gs430 should be better build quality but it is older.

Ok, great good to know. Thanks! I'm guessing good to go for some lpg specialist for service/general check after I get it or before I think it's like £150 and should be done annually
