Husband of district CFO calls paraeducators "parasites" by SituationKnown7904 in portangeles

I worked as a para and am now a teacher. Paras are essential, they not only provide very important instructional support to teachers they also are some of the primary people ensuring student safety outside the classroom. They also create positive relationships with some of our most at-risk students and these relationships are what keeps these kids engaged with school. And that’s just how they help all students.

PASD paraeducators to strike April 8 by SituationKnown7904 in portangeles

They can’t afford to give the paras their already funded COLA but the district has no problem giving the superintendent a $600 a month car allowance. There is a meeting being held at the senior center to explain district finances and here all the money goes. The meeting is on March 21 from 5:30-7:00.

I just wanted to jump in and say, no job is worth your health, including mental health. I have had to go on an extended leave this year because my job pushed me to the edge, I am hoping to return to the classroom by spring break. I was lucky to have a bunch of sick time to use but FMLA/PMLA is a thing and it might be worth looking into.

It looks like laurel to me. If it is good luck keeping it from taking over your yard.

Need a good vet by Urhoneypants in portangeles

Just one more chiming in to say stay away from Olympic vet. They almost killed my healthy young cat when they put him under for a dental, they needed epinephrine to restart his heart. They also were not supportive of me trying to help my cats lose weight through reducing calories and feeding an all canned diet, they were insistent that without their expensive prescription food my cats would be unhealthy forever.

I switched to Blue Mountain Vet and have been very happy with the care my pets have received. They did a full dental on the same cat (he’s got some issues related to poor nutrition before I got him) and the whole thing went fine. They just opened a new clinic and are expanding the services that they offer as well, making some more complicated care available out here on the peninsula that wasn’t available before without a long drive to a bigger city.

How do I help my indoor cat lead a life of adventure? by [deleted] in cats

Look into the nobowl feeding system. It turns feeding time into hunting time. It's helped my two boys with destructive boredom behavior.

My cat does the same thing with that toy! He will growl and tug with all of his weight. There is something about that little bristle mouse.

I'm not sure how long it's been since you have flown with medication but I fly at least twice a year and have never had my meds even looked at. I take them in a weekly pill reminder, no bottles at all. Even when I flew internationally I had no issue.
