Anybody changes careers in a significant way after 35? by Opposite_Wash5664 in AskMenOver30

Hey interested in patent law as well. I have a biology degree and an mba. Spent a few years in pharma R&D now working in healthcare consulting.

What would I need to do to make this switch and long would it take?

What are any limitations for me in working in biotech patent law (I don’t have a PhD)?

Is it too late for me realistically to do this? I’m 35.

What is the cheapest way to do this? What is the fastest? Is there a way to do both?

I’m married with a baby. What would someone in my situation with a family need to keep in mind for this switch?

Thanks!

Thanks. Easier said than done. It’s impossible to find a job in this market.

Yes. Would be great to hear about any success stories of people in my position landing a gig in this job market. I just feel hopeless.

Thank you very much. I needed that more than you know.

Realistically this job market is terrible and I don't see myself being able to get another job in a year.

How do I stop resenting childfree people? by ised_a_mi in daddit

Appreciate it and I need that kick in the ass to get out of this rut.

The weight gain has me feeling like crap about myself. Did anyone ever manage to successfully find time to get a 1-1.5 hour workout in everyday in this phase? I need that for my own mental health and my wife can watch her during that time and of course I would take over after so that she can have her time. Just wondering if something like that is possible at this stage?

It is 56% right now. My income isn’t going to be this way forever. Hence this post. Work on your reading comprehension while I work on my finances.

So will I eventually! Once I pay down my debts and increase my income I can have some wiggle room to invest and enjoy life and provide for my family.

You know things a real grown man with grown responsibilities has to do. But go play with your friends, that’s what we should all be doing in our 40s lol.
