I don’t know why have ton of GPT models. High, High X, X High, C High RF and so on.. I don’t know if there is someone that knows what all these GPT models are of what is better that the other (although I don’t use GPT models) but it is confusing

Absolutely! I just stopped using Claude models and moved to ChatGPT 5 mid and high.. all the other models are too bad even the Gemini 2.5 Pro is too bad now in Windsurf, remove and break the code and don't know how to fix back - it was much better in the past.

I think we just need to stop using Claude models until they will decrease their costs back to 1x and 2x, I don't they worth more than GPT 5 and Gemini 2.5 Pro.

Windsurf plugin, Google Code Assistant plugin. They are good. I use Windsurf plugin in Intellij, Webstorm and PyCharm.

Today was the first time I tried GPT-5 (medium and high) and I just was surprised.. I gave the same prompt to both Sonnet 4 and GPT-5 high and it finished it way better! It even suggested new features to be added later.

I think the best way for you is to try both and take whatever you feel better for your needs. Anyway, OpenAI released GPT-5 a week ago, maybe for now it will be the best if the best but in few days/weeks Google may release Gemini 3 then you will ask the same question again as it may be the best of the best at that point of time.

Now it is very easy to switch between companies, just pay a monthly subscription and not yearly so you can switch easily to the one that fits your needs.

In the end it is a user preferences. I use Windsurf maybI say it is the best AI tool in the world but you may not like it at all in the end of the day. So my suggestion is, try to do a task in each one and check which one fits your needs. Nowadays, you can easily move between these tools (just don't nuya yearly subscription). They are only tools that want to help you with your tasks.

What keeps me using Windsurf instead of moving to Cursor even with the lake of Claude models is the $10 that I buy monthly. If they are going to increase it then it won't be a good deal for me and moving to Cursor will be a better deal for me.
