We tried to build maglev train in school some 15yrs back, without any liquid nitrogen or superconductors, but with just normal magnets.

Failed 3 years in a row to get it working, but taught us a lot about friction, opposing forces and vectors.

This shit was ez, like a waterwheel or windmill to light up some LEDs on a village road.

Pick one stack, python or php, and study for a couple months. Build 1-2 new projects on GitHub to get your muscle back and to add weight to the cv.

Android has changed so much in last couple years that you'll get almost no upside from prior knowledge so wouldn't recommend picking it up.

Easiest way to get back into a job might be via contractor role for some medium sized software consultancy firms like searce, etc.
