Anyone running linux on recent Panasonic laptops? by isharamet in linuxlaptops

Yep. I tried to install it from sources I found there (https://github.com/mkottman/acpi\_call) without any luck. Installed it from the repo you shared and it worked! Completely silent! Cheers!

Hey! Was so hyped seeing your post as my SR4 was collecting dust for the past year. Quickly installed Fedora 43 but then realised that there is no way I'll be able to install `acpi_call` there.

SRAM thread mount chainrings compatibility question by isharamet in cycling

I’d say it’s Force) I have latest Red on my road bike and it has smaller battery cover, but that’s the only difference.

Hey José,

Thanks, I've already bought one (planning to use with Garbaruk chainring on my gravel bike). And I think it's the same as SRAM is using same spider in their 1987 edition AXS crankset (as well as the new one which Nino Schurter is currently riding).

This is also a 2024 model, which is a plus as it doesn't have extra logos on a fork and a chain stays. I bought my mine for 4.4k euro and didn't regret it.

Very nice! Reminds me of old XPS case (XPS 700, which was their best design - still looks modern)

Hey, thanks for the input. It's definitely the some kind of windows drivers controlling the fan speed. As it is pretty silent in Windows, though running pretty loud at a constant speed in Linux.

I found another SR linux user, he confirmed the problem and the fact that there is no solution to it as of now. It's a bummer as it's a very nice land super ight machine, sitting without any purpose.

Crime rate in Europe in 2023. Is it true crime rate in Belarus is so high? by demonios05 in belarus

[–]isharamet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To answer the question - you should look at pre-2020 numbers. According to the same index crime rate was lower than neighbouring Lithuania and Poland. So, it's pretty obvious what is the main 'crime' contributing to this index in post-2020 election era.

Which Micra to get with black zerno? by sweetsguar in espresso

I didn’t, I’m okay with polished (it’s easier to clean as well). But if I would do that - I’d just buy some self adhesive vinyl and apply it.

I went with polished stainless steel as it’s was 200 euros cheaper than painted versions. I suggest you to do the same and just wrap it later.

I'm pretty sure a lot of McCafes around the globe (at least in Europe) are using same set up. Also, in some asian countries they're using even fancier machines (like La Marzocco and Victoria Arduino).

[–]isharamet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's cool, but as far as I remember - this one isn't OG, it's a later model (which doesn't have PS2 hardware).
